Ok I'm ready to order my meth kit within the next few weeks.
The following is what I will be ordering: VC2 Pro with 2.2 gallon integrated black tank with FCB without the flow sensor. The CM10 nozzle and the AR Elbow with one bung. What are you guys considering? |

as you probably already know, my order will be exactly the same. Thanks for all your help and advice regarding meth.

It you run empty and then fill up it may take a fraction longer to purge air in the feeder pipe, but I see no other issue. Most systems are using a flow sensor that detects actual meth flow, so should keep tune safe until meth flow is reached anyway.

I know this is dependant on many variables but how long will the under hood version last?

Would I need the CM10 nozzle, or will the CM7 be fine if I have no BO mods?

I think you could do either but maybe a CM7 may suite better. If you are going to get more mods down the track you can just order the CM10 nozzle later. Shoot Terry an email and see what he suggests.

CM7 is fine, actually you could go smaller still. The Americans tend to overfuel the methanol which does not bring better results.

And also makes it nearly impossible to get an accurate a/f reading, as the methanol has a much slower combustion event to begin with. Using meth to "dial in" your last bit of tune (as many tuners do) is far from optimal, and as Mr. Blonde stated, it just further propagates other issues.

Terry suggested the CM10... He said he was going to take the CM7 option off the site!

What would actually be the real world difference? Is it going to flow more? Or does it just have the potential to flow more for more power?

Perhaps based on what Americans buy?

My experience is that the usage of methanol is so low that you can buy a 20 Litre drum from VP or similar and it will last a long time (mixed 50:50 with water) for most users, and it is not worth the risk using substitutes that probably cost more, and are less consistent. |

You can do that, and it would be alot better than injecting nothing while keeping the tune the same as with meth, but it would provide different results and if you had fine tuned it to a consistent meth mix, you would be compromising that fine tuning, and who knows the results. Probably OK at 15psi... but I would not want to be pushing the limits and changing what I am injecting.
Don't get me wrong... I am very much a fan of ethanol. I have a WRX race car that I run on E85 (85% ethanol), and it loves the stuff. But I would not go swapping the ethanol for methanol and expect it to run the same... in fact I would expect to break something if I did that. |

What are the hazards in running out of meth, and say, just using 100% water (if any)?
