SES, BRAKE, (!) and Transmission Error lights!
Car: 2011 135i with DCT
Mods: Procede V5 with 3/21 Beta maps Three times, I have received all these lights on my dash: Service Engine Soon BRAKE (!): Yellow Brake Icon with Exclamation Point in Center Transmission Error: Yellow Gear Cog with Exclamation Point in Center Two times, I received these lights while driving on the highway. Cruising at roughly ~70mph in 7th gear, with no accel or decel. All lights appeared. Engine/transmission shudders briefly like a hard downshift and you can hear a thud. Also noticed that the tachometer was jumping up and down really wildly between 1k and 3k rpm when actual engine speed was constant, this happened for about 5-10 seconds. Car drives fine after that, no power loss or limp mode. Pulled over, restarted car and all lights disappear except for SES. Got home and pulled codes with my laptop and got these two: 12170 12253 Anyone know what these codes are about? Is it Procede related? The third time this happened (this morning), I just started the car and was idling in my driveway. All lights appeared. I shut it down and restarted it. All lights disappeared except for SES. Didn't get a chance to pull codes yet since I was on my way to work. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this? What do these codes mean. Is it related to the Procede? Thanks in advance. |

I would think it's something related to the Procede. Especially if the RPM band is jumping up / down when the engine isn't changing speed.

That was my first thought too. I sent the Vishnu guys an email about this last week but haven't heard back from them yet, so that's why I posted it up here. Now these occurrences seem to be more frequent.

Nope, had it installed for 8 months now. Worked perfectly until the last few weeks. Didn't change any settings, didn't add/remove any mods, didn't even change the gas (always Shell 93 octane V Power).

New symptom that I just received today.
While cruising on local roads at roughly ~40mph, the DCT transmission started to behave very sluggishly. I was in Manual mode with Sport button activated. It was very slow to shift up or down. Then the BRAKE icon and the (!) icon appeared on the dash again. The car started to slow down. I tried to downshift then give it some gas and the engine revved up (the tachometer shows revs jump from 2k-4k rpm) but I did not get the corresponding acceleration. The clutch was definitely slipping big time. I downshifted again and same thing happens, engine revs up but no acceleration. Repeated the process until I eventually got down to 1st gear. Then suddenly the clutch started to transfer power again. Drove it home and restarted it and everything was fine again. No SES or any other lights. Any ideas what this is about? Is it possible that the Procede would affect the DCT transmission like this? If not, that would certainly rule out the problem with the Procede. Anyway, since this is a holiday weekend filled with BBQs, I probably won't have time to remove the Procede until next week. |

here's a link to N55 dme codes.
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...Gc&hl=en#gid=0 it's sticky'd on the 3'er turbo section. def'ly remove the tune and take it in for service. remember to clear all codes before removal. transmission light, no bueno. once it's fixed slap that procede back on. i wonder if other's with dct are having similar problems. Hawkeye 135i was ur 1er stock when u got the trannie light?

Yeah, completely stock, 18,000km on the clock.
Manually shifting from 3rd to 4th, 2-3 second delay in shift, then rpm spike, massive thud and driveline shake, revs back down to 1500 or so and then some hunting around the rev range, yellow transmission light. |

I had some freaky problems when I went to a piggyback tune. My electrical system would act up which mainly meant the AC would not work and my step tranny would shift weirdly. Also a few times my car would not crank/run. I removed my piggy and the car still stalled a couple of times. A tuner shop figured out at least part of it was my HPFP. Then I gave up on the piggy. No problems since. However I bet a different map, etc would have gotten the piggy working fine also.
