Thanks.
My dealer swore the labor was included in the $599 price and that the only other charge would be tax and that's all they charged me. They still have it listed that way on their website too: http://www.paulmillerbmw.com/coupons/service.

^^i was charged 1 hr labor, even though the dealer said it took 2 hrs total. Who knows for sure, but I was quoted a little over 700.00 installed w/tax and that is what I paid...out the door.

Just got back, and they are holding firm at $250 labor. Telling me it takes up to 6 hours to download the software, and a technician needs to be available to troubleshoot if necessary. So, yet another version of the story...

I was in at $650 OTD. Not sure about $750 plus tax...

That is utter BS.
I wouldn't trust them to do my car.

Say, if you payed $650, and the labor was firm at $250, then they discounted the $599 part to $400?

No. They previously were at 599 uninstalled, 750-ish installed. When the price dropped to 509, I expected the overall price to drop $90, to 660. No dice...

It can take 1 hour or it can take over 6 hours. They told me that my car took all day and they had to start over the next morning.

I paid 599 and no labor. They told me "we didn't charge the labor because it took so long. Sorry for the inconvenience.". Funny thing is I didn't complain.

If you ate on the fence DO IT. I love my car now. Throttle response is instantaneous now. The added acceleration and mid range punch are very noticeable. The car sounds amazing now too. Whenever I let of the gas it crackles and burbles like crazy now.

I paid $613 for mine, and the only thing I miss since the upgrade was the ability to blip the throttle to hear the exhaust when sitting at a light. Now the car doesn't do that, accelerating from a stop is a lot smoother now though. So is shifting.

So I ordered my performance version 1 kit from the dealer on 11/18. They said it will take 5 to 7 days for it arrive. Still haven't heard anything back from them. Does it usually take this long to arrive? Should I call and complain to hopefully score a discount for bad service...

They are charging me $800 out the door including part and installation (labor)

I was wondering what you guys think and what you would do?

Should take 3-4 business days, it's just a huge envelope with the license key along with the stickers.

Getting the part installed today!!

Production date of the car: 01 JUN 2008

Mileage: 29,966 Miles

Is there anything I should be aware of? Like spark plugs, etc.

Bittersweet moment for me...I am happy because of the upgrade but sad b/c I ended up paying 800 out the door for part and install. Also they charged me tax on the part, is that right?

Thanks for the help dudes...

why were you expecting to not pay tax?

My dealer lists it at $850 installed.
The fact that I have a 20% discount is unrelated.

Just picked up my car with the v1 ppk. Very limited driving so far, but the gain is noticeable. I did not notice any change to exhaust note.

It took three days for them to do the install. Luckily I had a loaner. The SA said that they had trouble doing the flash and that, in the end, it turned out that a problem I had reported with my bluetooth was related (bad board).

Total out the door price was 585 (parts) + 305 (labor).

Almost $900 for a simple low power flash...hmmmm no thanks

Ill stick with my $100 jb+ that makes twice the power in boost and is easily removable

Just had mine done a few days ago, noticable difference in pick up, throttle response, and sounds deeper. Overall I'm happy I did it, wasn't night and day but I can tell its there. I paid 600 for the part and 100 for install at my local dealer
