Sorry I missed it. Even passed by when I dropped The Speaker of the House off at a work dinner at Brett's Wharf. My excuse is I started fitting my spare rims ready for the track day tomorrow and then the rain came down. Could be an interesting track day if the rain doesn't stop...

Brisbane Drive 21.03.2010
From the discussion we had earlier tonight, I guess I will be planning the route . The following is a 'proposed route'. A few 1addicts did this route last year and turned out pretty good.
Plan is to meet at Fitzys Car Park near the LOGAN HYPERDOME, from there we would head to TAMBORINE along the Beaudesert-Beenleigh Rd. We can either go through Mt TAMBORINE or skip it completely (I've added 2 maps detailing routes, one going through Mt Tamborine and the other not, input would be good from others regarding this decision ) We would then head through the Nerang-Murwillumbah Rd passing through Natural Bridge, following along to Numinbah and finally arriving at Murwillumbah. Pitstop here, have something to eat/drink chat. Can head back through Tomewin and the Currumbin Valley and finally hit the freeway back home. From memory I can recall that the google said it would take about 2.5 hours to get to Murwillumbah but we've done it much quicker Here are the links to the maps Not passing through MT TAMBORINE http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...,1.050568&z=11 Passing through Mt TAMBORINE http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...8&ie=UTF8&z=10 Im not sure when everyone would like to start, but the last time we did this drive, we left the Carpark at 830 and were back in Brisbane by 1:30-2ish if memory serves me. Advice, Thoughts, Concerns, will all be welcomed. Let me know what you guys think Last edited by wmj73; 03-11-2010 at 08:14 PM.. |

Was great to meet the new guys Vin and Michael! Vin, car is looking awesome and sounding sweet.
On a side note, on my way home I spotted a white coupe on the back of a truck... maybe his fuel pump died :-p |

Good to meet up with the guys last night. Had a listen to my whining turbo and it seems we all have the same sound so I'm a little more comfortable with it being there. Not sure if I'll make the cruise, but if the last one is any indication then I'll try my best to get to it.

Wessyeeed!!!
I'll represent Oxley as long as you guys know where the hell it is. I'm not sure where you were heading last night but it wasn't in the direction of where most of us lived. And your cars rocks. Perhaps I should have driven a MT 125i before committing to the 135i.

I went down the highway and got off onto Ipswich Rd and headed out that way. Pretty sure it's a lot quicker than going through Indooroopilly (which I assume that's where you went?) Rowdy Warren must have gone back through Sunnybank and out the back way to his place. |

Yeah, I looped back around down Milton Rd, then onto the Western Freeway. My place is the Seventeen Mile Rocks side of Oxley, so it's a little bit quicker going that way.

Can you elaborate more on that point at all? I've never driven either car but ordered a manual 125i regardless. Personally wouldn't consider a 135i even though it's extremely tempting. Seems like in your opinion that a (manual) 125i isn't as far behind the 135i as you expected?

My comment stems from a cruise that Warren and I were on last year. We were going through the backroads on the way to Maleny and Montville and I was under the impression that Warren's car was a 135i (he has sneakily debadged it - although a simple look at the front bumper would have easily identified the model) as he didn't drop off the pace or create any gaps to the car in front of him. We were talking last night about this misconception I had of his car and he asked had I only driven an AT 125i, to which I replied yes, and I was quickly informed that an AT is not as sharp a tool as the MT 125i. His performance on that cruise confirmed it.

my performance ay???? Just kidding Craig.
Yes the 125i manual is a thousands times better than the automatic imo. I say this based on the drive i had with a demo 125i. It wasnt as responsive but that could be due to it only having 300kms on the clock (my SA told me to flog it and so I did poor person who owns that car) Feedback on the proposed route guys??? |

It was good to meet up with you again Richard, Warren & Gary as well as meet up for the first time with Vinnie, Michael and Craig. It's good to be able to put a face to the forum names. Looking forward to more meetings in the future like last night.
Yeah I went home out past Sunnybank and Acacia Ridge. I hope to be able to join all of the fellas on the 21st of this month.

Warren your performance is always top notch But being serious, his car is very capable, short shift, PBX, exhaust, intake... might aswell be a 135i hey warren? Very surprising you held up as well as you did on the way, but by the sounds of it I may have been in a gear lower than you in some of the bursts we did My car sounds boring compared to yours and Vins... |
