Hey guys, I posted this same question in the DIY, but thought since this is the 128 thread you might be able to assist me better (assuming someone has ran into this as well). I want to change my headlights from stock halogen non-halo style headlights, to a set of halo style lights. My concern is that the new housing units have three sets of red/black wires on the bottom, but theres no directions explaining what they go to or where they need to go. Has anyone else ran into this when changing their headlights?

They are aftermarket, I believe, but I do not know the brand. I got them with the car from the previous owner, and all he said was that they are "depo style" headlights, so I'm sure they are probably not the best, but they are a lot nicer than what I currently have to work with.

I originally wasn't sure if I wanted to swap them, so I had done some wet sanding to try and remove the hazing, but noticed a lot of the diluted light was because of condensation and hazing on the inside of the headlight, not the exterior. These are the lights that I have that I am questioning, I believe I have a picture of the wires coming out of the bottom somewhere.

This is what the wires look like coming out the bottom of the headlight body. I wasn't planning on doing them until the weekend since I daily drive the car, so I wasn't sure if maybe there were "loose" wires on the OEM lights that would connect directly, but I imagine that would be WAY too simple to be plausible.

I have it figured out, they do in fact go to the halos. I have a few ideas as to how I am going to hook them up, not sure which route I am going to take.

yep those are the halo wires. you can wire them several different ways depending on when you want them to light up. i'd just put them to a constant 12v source so they're always on, but thats me.

CRD Engines has made a race intake manifold that mimics CSL intake without ITB for Mitchum 128i n52 race team. I think the TB has been relocated to be closer to the MAF & Airbox
http://instagram.com/p/gqdo0zgNzI/ Soo pretty, but makes me wonder what happened to the oil seperator pipes, and sensors for intake manifold https://www.facebook.com/CRDenginedevelopment

That's very interesting......... Might be a pretty penny but it would be an exclusive mod!

I dont think its consumer mod worthy, I think the 128i oem manifold simply split open/ melted in a race environment. Im pretty sure the car makes the same power as it did before since its limited for its class

Doubt the last statement. I'm sure they did it for a reason! Why would they fab it up to make the same power! Lol.

I bet that box loses power everywhere but the top end, vs a 3 stage disa manifold car (all else equal, assuming no itb conversion).
Good for race, not for street. |

Yup. The benefit of the DISA manifold is to get big bump in both low end torque as well as high end power via the adjustable flaps. That manifold from CRD is a pure track manifold to only make power in the top end.
