Side skirts?
Hey ShocknAwe,
Amazing build! I'm looking to do the 1M front end only conversion on my 135i vert. How did you address the side skirt issue? Did you end up grafting, bending, or what? Thanks, NewD |

Just pulled it out and bolted in to the 1M fender. Not the prettiest. Planning to cut the extra off and modify my 135i front mudflaps on over the gash but haven't gotten around to that yet.

It's not obvious enough for me to care in the meantime. Cheers!

Yeah, I think if it's close enough I'll be okay with it too. Look forward to seeing pics of yours when it's done.

@ShocknAwe you have an awesome build! Have you got any further plans for it?
Can I ask, are you using your original E82 front hubs with the F8X knuckles? Or the F8X hubs with the F8X knuckles? And are the Hydra brake calliper adaptor brackets for CSL rotors available to buy? Can I also ask about the fe1rx rear toe arms, are they available to buy? Am I correct in thinking that they are for the non-M subframe and non-M knuckles? I'm trying to figure out what direction to go with my suspension plans. |

Hydra caliper adapter ought to be available, have to contact them via email. fe1rx arms are one off.

Thanks both, I'm impressed by the weight savings then as stated on the Hydra thread on ***********, as the F8X hubs are even lighter, but I guess you can't use the CSL rotor then.
$300 doesn't sound too bad in my opinion, considering the other (easy) option with the knuckles are F8X front brakes and they are massive! |

I am at a crossroads with my suspension. (I was during the test drive!) The previous owner installed Swift Spec-R with Koni Orange (they are not to be used on lowering springs.) Ohlins R&T are my being the Halo setup for street/spirited driving and the occasional lapping day, but I have really enjoyed Bilstein "Sport" aka:B8 dampers in the past, they just seem to work with no drama. For once in my life, jury is out on this one, I would like to stick to a "cup kit" in favour of simplicity and tire clearance. I see that you were using the Swift Linear Springs for coilers in a mixed set, with the B6 in the rear and the TC dampers, I was wondering if you had insight into doing a cup kit setup with the Swift Linear and B6/B8 dampers and/or who I could reach out to with this knowledge to provide the brains and parts? In an ideal world it would be a .5" to .75 from stock ride height on. Swift Linear springs, with a B6 or B8 damper at all 4 corners. (There does not seem to be any hard data from Bilstein, Turner or anyone else that indicates where the B6 stroke vs B8 stroke -ride height- window's are optimally set.) TIA for pointing me in the right direction. *Sorry Last edited by 1KRNRRNG1; 04-04-2021 at 09:00 AM.. |
