but in a bad way, this car will leave by september next year, VAA (tax on company cars) is too expensive to run it as a company car after my cyclingholidays in the STelvio-area, I'll sell this baby can't run aeromax+3whlr+1M privately, and paying full taxes on a 3year-old car: FORGET IT might sell the A'max but market for such cars is slow and won't improve imho

Auch! I feel sorry for you... too bad you have to make cutbacks in cars because of some idiotic and in the end counterproductive meassures, mark my words. Well since you're keeping it untill august i'd say... enjoy while it last |

trouble is my main passion is cycling,
so spending XX.XXX,- on cars each year (tax/insurance) is just too much A'max is on sale but market is pretty quiet if it ain't sold in september: 1M goes for a small Prius/CT200H or ??? just need to balance the €€€€ for private toy against extra taxes on company-car

I will come with my 1M, and my wife with her Mini Cooper S!! Until today, there were always dry conditions at Spa, when i was there on a Public day!! |

My 1M was also sold through a belgian dealer, but it's on luxemburgish plates, same for a 1M in AW!!! I think there are more than the 41 for Belgium! There's also one in my dealer's showroom, but it's already sold, i think!!

engines are both strong from very low rpm's sound of the aeromax in unreal where the 1M looses out on the Aeromax, the 3wheeler will pick up, for me, best garage 1M+3whlr compared to Prius C or CT200h + Aeromax + 3whlr

If it may be some sort of consolation: you're certainly not the only one. Very recently also another Belgian 1M enthusiast has put his 1M (lease) up for sale due to the recent company car tax change. He quotes €50K for his Sep 11 VO 1M with 7K on the odometer: http://nl.autoscout24.be/Details.aspx?id=206144211 Here he explains the difficulty of the choice he had to make (page 19 and following) (Flemish): http://www.bimmerboard.be/forum/inde...opic=28318.270 The legislation change was published last Friday (Dec 30) (articles 39 and following on pages 81651-81653): http://www.ejustice.just.fgov.be/mop...30_4.pdf#Page6 Company car cost calculator: http://www.sdworx.be/secure3/co2calc...t.aspx?lang=nl http://www.sdworx.be/secure3/co2calc...t.aspx?lang=fr As far as concerns myself - rebus sic stantibus - I keep my privately owned 1M. |

to be honoust,
the ariël-accident made me think of not taking delivery of the 3whlr but selling it through the dealer, but I also cycle a lot, also in Brussels, somehow, when you are due to go, no matter how safe the vehicle you will be "in" or "on", you'll die used the 1M for 300km, in rather bad weather the safety-systems are really good in the 1M once more very happy I did buy it aeromax: well, I easily say goodbuy to "stuff" and I did all the rides I wanted to do with that fenomenal car so time for the next episode

my 1M cost me every year around 17000km EVERYTHING paid+depreciation
glad it is my company car even thougt it will cost me netto another 5000euro a year 911: cost/value-losses: 25000 a year tax: 9000 netto my opinion: 2 possibilities: nice car you drive many km's: on the company very special car you drive very little: private+good cheap company car no kidding: my next company car could be a cayman pdk why not, it has got to be able to cary mountainbike+luggage privately it would cost me still more than twice I'm taxed now edit: I'll also swap cars faster than now, not willing to pay the "larger" amount for a old model and CO-emmisions will lower fast now, look at the new 335i: a whole lot less also 328i is very interesting, turbo brings low-rev-power new boxster/caymans will have both 2.0turbo and 3.4B6: wouldn't mind driving the 2.0 if it feels fast enough also: read the emissions of the i8: thinking of discussing that car with my dad, buying it on the company for the both of us it'll be expensive, but if it delivers on driving satisfaction and is taxed on the minimum: yihaa!!!!!! edit2: not the strongest, but he who adapts himselve the best to new conditions will survive I'm not scared, willing to change FOR THE BETTER

Definitely, Brussels is mad, especially during rush hour (some car drivers are sleepy, have a hangover, are tired, work on their make-up, use mobile for texting, phoning or reading their e-mails or newspapers, fiddle on their radio, are nervous or simply plain negligent). Ask police and they'll tell you to beware as much as you can. Despite permanent defensive and danger-anticipative two-wheel driving, I experienced already loads of WTF-moments during near misses where I lucked out of. Went wrong three times so far (but only got bruises - no bones broken so far): One of my neighbors got killed with his bicycle (car turning into a side street without turning signal and without checking side mirror). Food for thought. |
