Was up til 2 am changing pads, oil, and flushing fluid with SRF. 8k miles and stock brake fluid looked light gold in the reservoir and was golden yellow from the calipers. After probably 10-12 track days that's par for the course. Got up in the am late, drive the cat and had a slight rattle. I thought it might be an issue with the camber plates. It wasn't. Further driving and diagnostics identified the issue as coming form the pads. I had purchased used pfc 01 and these pads rattle in the caliper like I have never seen. Driving down the road on smooth pavement they clatter and chatter so much it makes you apply the brakes to make it stop rattling!!! I figured this out at 1:30. Decided to run to ECR rather than risk an issue driving in the metroplex as well as all the construction.Arrived at 2:30 and got in 1 session at 104 degrees ambient. They closed at 3. Car ran fine. Felt slow to build power but I was hitting nearly 125 into turn 7 which is my normal speed there. Oil temps were HIGH. Definitely got near the dot to the right of the middle but no limp mode. I took it easy on the cool down lap and temps came down fairly quickly but I let it idle in paddock for several minutes to let cool. The PFc 01s definitely stop much better than stock pads. Freely awesome. However the rattle is crazy. People can hear them rattling in the caliper when the car is driven in the paddock. Yes, I have the factory anti rattle clips on. I will keep the pads for an autocross and swap back in streets or something else with clips on the rear. I suppose these could be the wrong pad somehow, so I can investigate that as well. Ps. Finfrock lied!! Lol. Official temps were 107 at Dfw!!! |

Finfrock did indeed lie. It was about 108 at Cresson. I got in 5 run sessions. Car ran great. Temps were right on the dot, as you would say. Which if the dot is exactly between 250 and 340 means I was running at 295. I did get limp mode on last run session almost near end of session (4pm). But no indication on the dash. Just loss of power. Came back once I stopped and restarted car. I have used PFC 01 also and they do rattle in the caliper. For that reason I have switched back to Hawk DTC-70. They work really well. They squeel when cold, but no rattle. They come with clips like stock pads. I am also using SRF fluid. No brake issue. Worst performing component was the driver. I drank 15 bottles of water and a large gatorade and was still thirsty. |

Hey Jason, this is Philip Cormier. I suppose you are finished with my stock 1M front spring that you used to design the 1M camber plate. Clearly I'm in no hurry for that spring but don't let me forget to get it back. Easiest for me is to just have someone drop it back off on my front porch. Thanks |

All of the above! I should get the mid pipe in sometime this week. I was planning to have BJ install the mid pipe and do an oil change (just over 5300 miles currently, 4100 since the first oil change). But I would rather learn how to do this type of thing on my own. Problem is I don't have a jack or the associated tools required to do it.
PM me your contact info and let's see if we can't work something out. |

[QUOTE=modernbeat;12377679]Phillip, I had that spring out today. I've got a tag with your name on it and I suspect we will be done with it soon as our 1M testing will be wrapping up and we go into production with our 1M OEM perch.[/QUOTE
As long as it's still useful, no worries. Just didn't want it to get lost. Or more likely, me forgetting about it. |

FINALLY
I finally saw another 1M on the road this morning... AW northbound on Hillcrest, turning west onto Belt Line, looking goooood.
I was in the shitty silver CR-V beater today. I'm sure you noticed. |

Drove on Hillcrest and Beltline this am. Thanks for the kudos.
