I finally got a confirmed spot on a list! I'm #2 out of 3 orders at my dealer. Btw, all three are either black or white. The sales manager said he's going to order one in VO just to have in the showroom. Still no word on delivery dates or firm prices although the message the salesman forwarded to me said:

"The 1 M Coupe will be a Limited Production car (60 units per month for the entire US of A) therefore we will NOT discount this car, period, including the lease rate. Absolutely no discounts."

Yup! Bit of shopping around got the finance deal I was after and the dealer matched someone elses quote! Win. Win. Didn't even bother trying to negotiate a discount on the RRP.

Went safe with Black, it's a DD and company car so cannot be too flash, though I could always change my mind to white. Gutted there is no blue or grey. Would be good to see the colours in the flesh somewhere before the car starts production. Hoping there will be a UK event somewhere.

No details, yet, signed off spec but not on system yet so no dates. Maybe tomorrow. All very exciting, the first new car I've ever had off the production line to my own spec.

It was a close all between 1M and RS3, but the 1M feels a bit more special and I always wanted an "M".
