Sweet. Sometimes it's the small mods that give big results.

Cheaper than the set of BBS E88s I just got for my 964 so I'm satisfied with that. Had to shop around some at upholstery shops. First one I talked to wanted a lot of money.

I went outside and dug the 12-18 inches of snow out around it and off it.

Couldn't see my back wheel when I started. Now I see the whole car.
Almost got stuck trying to circle the neighborhood to see how it would do in the deep snow. Just turn off traction control and let it eat. I got it back in front of the house.
And called off for tomorrow.

I wasn't too thrilled about the 24"+ (over 60cm for us metric-ists) that needed to be cleared from my drive... street parked cars on my street literally buried. Baby1 slumbers quietly in the garage, while DD BabyGLK tank plows on.

*Edit, for reference, that truck in front is an Avalanche (heh), that accumulated snow is above the wheel wells.

Sheesh, thats alot of snow. Was it alot of snow for your area or what?

The amount of snow we got is considered one of the top 5 snow events in the last 100 years for us. We hardly ever get alot of snow like this. Most of the time its either a few inches here or there, then maybe 1 or 2 good snows with like 4-6 inches max.

Definitely record breaking for Toronto - the city typically doesn't get this kind of a dump. Where I live downtown was hit harder too (unusual) due to lake effect, which usually blows toward Buffalo, not Toronto.

Billetworkz Weighted Shift Knob - Piston Shape - Rainbow Sparkle

Alright so as I defer & stall the project of refreshing my guibo/driveshaft area in hopes of smoother shifting, I thought why not get a heavier shift knob. It was a game changer in my previous car.

My GOODNESS. If you've ever been on the fence considering 'should I try on of those aftermarket knobs that may make me look like a knob, or stick to oem because I like rules,' throw those thoughts out the window & just give it a try.

Going from ~150g in the stock M-sport shift knob to this 475g heftylad is like throwing your blanket away to turn on central heating.

I know BMW shifting tends to be buttery but there was something about this that just felt right. Like it just slides right into gear without effort.

5/5 easy upgrade that's worth so much more than its dollar amount.

Make sure you upgrade the shifter and bushings with that knob or you'll lose feeling with the weight.

Thanks dude! They're collecting dust in the garage corner right now while I decide how to allocate time. But is absolutely on the agenda.

I've finally figured out an air leak I've been chasing so it's almost time for MHD stage 1...

I'm jealous that you got a manual lol. I flip back and forth between manual and auto for a daily and while my last daily was manual, I do kinda wish the BMW was too. I do like the laziness of putting in gear and just going though.

Today my car decided to do a cylinder 3 misfire. Happened on the way to work, had the auto shop next to my work solve its problem. Was the coil pack, they moved it and it moved. Warrantied out the coil and drove her back home.

LOL I had an E30 I was dumping money into instead. S52, TE37s, confetti Recaros, BC coils. It ended up being totaled, so now I'm trying to get the 1er put together on a stricter budget and hopefully do some track days this year. The wheels were cheap, I think I paid 600 for the set back in Jan 2020?

Also, ABS sensor delivered from FCP Euro last night. Unlikely to find time to replace this weekend, maybe next.

Random question:

How do I depin these connectors on the brake/wheel speed sensors in the wheel well?

Mine disintegrated, have all new stuff but clearly lacking a tool.

Sorry to hear about the E30. Sounds like a hell of a build! TE37 look great on the E82 as well! Please share a photo!

Here's a couple, excuse my pretend brand marketing lmao. The TEs are 4x100 so they won't be making it on the e82 lol. Not sure why I felt the need to own two black 6cyl manual BMW coupes. BMWs just the best at it.

Gorgeous!

Yeah you'd need a new set for many reasons. But they look great in 17/18".
