Hey we have the same color combo, just not the same transmission. Welcome! Your car looks stunning but I might be biased a bit.
EDIT: ^ that was for motorchimp

Not only does the exhaust sound seem to get better, but you learn to have more fun with it, too. Example - I now park in an covered garage at work starting this week, and as I pulled in this morning just past the mechanical arm, someone walked across in front of me without ever looking. I let him go, but with even just a lil gas, man that thing roared and reverberated in the garage, making him somewhat jump and spin his head back. I will say, even when the car is going about 5 mph that exhaust sounds mean and like the car is being revved and going 20-30. |

Thanks so much everyone! I was originally looking for a more contrasting color combo than just black on black, but when i realized the car had blue stitch i was in. All in the details right
Yeah the exhaust is just awesome on this car. I also park in a covered garage and I always drive around in it with the windows cracked. I'm so happy we decided to go with this car. A bit of background on this, my wife and I had a first gen base 997 a couple of years ago and were thinking of a used second gen 997 this time around, but to get the (not so crazy) options we wanted the used prices were just ridiculous. She kept asking me what other car would I want to drive and the 1 series was always the only car that came to mind. She's a big BMW fan and everytime we went to look at BMWs I'd always jump in whatever 1 series they had in the showroom and would say this car just seems like a blast to drive. The first 1 series i eventually test drove was a 2010 128 convertible at carmax, and I immediately fell in love with the soul of the car, the overall feeling it gives you, and I figured a hardtop, 100 more horses and a louder exhaust couldn't really hurt it... One thing i do miss is the cushiness of the 128 compared to the 135is, but the improved handling is worth it for us. In the end, we chose the 135is over a 997.2 for many reasons that can be argued for ever, but for me it's the soul of the 1 series that i fell in love with. It just feels special. |

I agree with the advice to get PSSs… I love mine and can't wait to get them back on the car in the Spring!

Went to the Philly auto show today. Quick take aways:
- m3 blows away the m4 as far as presence. Just the much more desirable design to me. Where the m4 is sleek and flowing, the m3 is muscular and mean. It didn't help that the m3 was black and the m4 was that yellow color. Oddly I like the regular 4 coupe better than the regular 3 sedan. It flip flops in m guise. - m235i was unimpressive in person on the exterior. Just very blah. Interior is in every way better than e82.

Well both the m3 and the m4 are needlessly big (probably e39 size at this point - someone check me on that) but the m3 wears it much better. And it doesn't feel big in the interior. The m3 interior is very nicely done. Shame to lose the adjustable lower extension on the seats, but they were cozy.
I would rather have a 435 m sport than the m235i.
