The new LCI tails only use LED's for the tail light or parking light. ie: when you switch on the parking lights or headlights... you can see that wavy LED tube. (just like on the old three LED tubes) All functions for braking/turn/rear fogs are done with regular bulbs. I too have been wondering HOW I can install some LED turn signals or brake bulbs in my 135i. I was thinking of using the turn signal LEDs from a 5er e60. |

lol dude its like easier than changing a tire.
go in the trunk, pull off the carpet cut outs and pop out 1 plastic pin to be able to get your hand into the carpeted area by the light. unplug both connections into the light, loosen 3 bolts and the light comes right out, just work in reverse order to install the new one and then repeat for the other side. |

Yes sounds easy enough, so was changing the bulbs for the angel eyes.
That was a b!tch to do! Ended up getting help from the local BMW service shop. Hopefully this is as easy as it sounds!

I am sure they would work regardless of what year or lights you have.

Thats for the headlights not the taillights to be on the same page of what we are talking about? Only 1 kind of taillight. But 2 kinds of headlights

Just installed them today and ran into some fitment issues with since the new foam pad is alot thicker, but if you stick a few credit cards or use a taped up screwdriver to push the bottom up and then tighten it it still fits well.
I also snapped a picture incase anyone needs it, its an extremely straight forward install. -take out the center trunk floor piece -disconnect negative terminal -remove the plastic piece in between the tail lights (inside trunk - has 2 screws and 2 tabs(?) holding it) -take out one tab on each side of the inner carpet and pry it back to reveal the tail light assmebly -remove 3 8mm bolts (red circles) -unplug two connectors (blue squares) -then simply pull the lights out and reverse to install Hope this helps anyone that is unsure of the diy As usual, I'm not reliable for any damages to your car and please be careful and patient when you work on your car

I installed mine yesterday. It was super easy and definitely worth it. Completely plug and play with no issues. Love the fade in and out when lock/unlocking and the LEDs seem brighter as well.
