about 68k. I think I bought it with 63 in September?
I suppose I went a little stupid with it right off the bat -- can't believe I haven't even owned it a year.

i gotta say, very informative and entertaining thread to read. its a bit deterring that most of the track guys on this platform eventually went to the 1m wide body. maybe ill cross that bridge down the road when my skills surpass the cars capabilities . thank you for sharing!

Getting the male portion threaded on is a massive PITA, esp with a 90 degree end. With two adjustable wrenches I can't get it to tighten past a 1/16" gap, so I might run out to buy a vise without a workbench to bolt it to. Granted I didn't lube it.. scratched the hell out of the surfaces.. can you tell its my first time? lmao. Figured you can relate. How do they make it look so easy on youtube?? It's all aeroquip brand parts /rant |

Street Questions
Berns, first off, love the thread and the vids! I am starting to put together a list of suspension and cooling mods for my 135i. I will be doing 3-5 track days per year and a few autocross events.
Do you still daily drive your car? How is it with the stiffer springs on the street? How much roughness and noise did you get on the street with all the rod end rear camber adjusters and lower front arm ? Last edited by adrianm1972; 10-11-2018 at 12:19 AM.. |

I had a few different Setups and for daily driving and one who doesnt want to get full bonkers i would run: Front: Uniball Bearings in lower Front Arms (or M3 in the beginning) and the other Arm M3 Version Rear: Uniball Bearing in the inner lower camber arm (i have that set available, feel free to write me if you are interested) Uniball Bearings in the Trailing Arm (also have them in Stock) Uniball Toe Arm (also in stock) and M3 Guide Rod and Upper Camber Arm. Then you have only 2 Rubber Bushings left, but this Setup will have 95% the same noise and roughness as OEM and i can ensure you will be happy :-). I went further and also swapped the M3 Arms (guide Rod and upper Camber Arm) for our Uniball Arms and now you hear a loud clonk when going over holes etc... Still not very bad, but very noticeable. As cooling you have perfect Setups here in this Forums :-). What you really should adress also are the Brakes. |

Hey, I cleared out the Inbox. I run two Series 6 cores. Working on some hood ventilation now, and will make some ducting to go behind each oil cooler to force the air out of the fender liners. Temps have cooled down quite a bit out here, but I'm tired of having heat issues during the summer.

Heh, funny.... I was just gonna ask about the skirts!
With the numbers on the doors and the wide tires the 135 skirts almost give it a racy aggressive kinda look |

Yeah, I love it. I might try to do something custom to keep some of that vibe. Not dying to just look like a 1M..

Hi Berns, how are you finding the wavetrac LSD? Is it helical? Any reason why you chose that over an OS Giken or an M3 LSD?
Just investigating this myself and none of the options are cheap! Cheers |

There are a lot of good and a lot of expensive options out there for sure. They all have their merits. I think a OS Giken diff would be more suited to track duty, but I ran a Wavetrac on my E90 with zero issues and like the guys there. It's a torsen diff. They were in stock when I was ready to get going on my order from Diffsonline with the 3.46 gearing and I went for it.

Just realised you are bernb5 on AZ? I remember your A4GT30R vid from a decade ago!
EDIT: Read the entire thread, this is awesome. Switched spring rates yet? I keep hearing this soft spring big bar theory - might try it out. 2F8F code is from left foot braking or probably even heel-toeing. Get tuner to turn it off, otherwise no big deal. Have you turned off all the safeties/coding not in the DME but elsewhere and other modules? There are things like pad knock off, power reduction due to brake temperature etc http://www.onelapx1.com/blog/how-to-...w-actually-fun Last edited by gmx; 11-09-2018 at 05:52 AM.. |
