Waited... Waited very patiently while she crosses the Atlantic Ocean on a boat. Oh how I miss it! it's been a month in transit already!

Took mine for a drive through the mountains at sunrise with another friend of mine in his E36 M3. We got some really great photos. Unfortunately towards the end of the driving, I started to experience some brake fade, which is sort of disappointing considering the massive 6 piston calipers these cars have.

Two coats of wax today.
Noticed that the glass smooth finish from nanoscrubbing a month ago is pretty much gone... Typical fate of a daily driver.

Boring post: Installed Winter floormats today! Car will be unfortunately used more this Winter and in order to not destroy the summer mats, ordered OEM rubber ones at my dealership. To my surprise they came with the Velcro things. I am not sure why as the car has them from factory.

My friend is much better photographer than me, with much more serious equipment than my 7 year old DSL. Check out one of his shots: Yeah, sort of a let down. I'm wondering if different pad material or the BMW Performance rotors would help, as I'm using original BMW pads and rotors. Looks like they changed the design. The newer mats in F30s and whatnot have a similar pattern to his. |

Flashed TCU with the Alpina B3 software (finally).
Since I'm using a macbook, I had to setup a virtual Windows 7 machine which was no big deal but getting the correct version of the BMW tools and the SPDaten files was tedious and time consuming. The TCU flash it self was easy, getting my paddle shifters to work was pain in the @$$ but it all worked out. |

Well, today, I did this:
Which isn't great, but it's much better than this: Which is how a rat left it. Tucked out of the way and waiting for: the SES light to turn off, the shop to order a harness, and Insurance to decide if they're going to cover it. Gonna try to get some gaffer's tape to cover it up. Both my trusted local indy and a BMW specialist motorsports shop that I recently stumbled upon nearby advised that I'll need a whole new engine wiring harness. Looking at RealOEM: I had no idea there would be like 6 to choose from. Is it really a $400 part? |

No pic since it's kinda ugly, but I wrapped the 4 wires from the O2 sensor to the bundle under the intake with gaffer's tape last night for a level of extra protection.
Thinking to disconnect it from the sensor, unwrap, and try again in warmth and daylight. But not today. Maybe then it'll warrant a pic. Oh - on the 3rd startup the SES light went off! So I guess I did it right... There was a rat in an attic trap last night, so I'm saying he's got his comeuppance. |

Took some pictures.
The other day, my dad cleaned the wheels on his E88, he said the wax made cleaning much easier and the finish was still slick! Yesterday, he tucked the E88 away for the winter. Mine will go away soon, too!

Getting ready for winter storage here in salt country. Waxed, fresh oil, coolant, brake fluid. Digging out the car cover, BMW Smart Charger, and fuel stabilizer. Always a sad time of year, but really no choice around here. Does keep the mileage down. Big smile bringing it back out in the spring.
