I took my 135 to the drag strip just to see what it would run. While I was in the staging lanes, I had the hood up and had it shut off. I was pushing the car as the line moved because I didnt want to heat soak the car, plus I dont like to idle my cars for extended amounts of time and starting/stopping them every 30 seconds is stupid. The car is light enough that pushing it is not a big deal. Anyway, I had a guy yell at me
guy: Why are you pushing it, it will be ok. me: I dont want the car to heat soak (I always jsut break down to simple terms for simple people, I always assume you know nothing about cars) guy: its stock, it will be ok. I had one, I know. me: still dont want the intercooler to heat soak. Its not a big deal guy: (he seemed pissed at this point). Then you should get a something something (I couldnt hear him because he was kind of far and my helmet was on) me: what?! guy: its because you dont know anything about your car! hahaha. me: yeah I do. Thanks for your concern.... guy: no you dont! Me: Ill go back to racing, have fun on the sidelines... The next time I was in the staging lanes, I looked for him and he was gone. I walked up to his friends and asked where he was and they pretended to not know what I was talking about. It kind of made me mad, fug it. I had a good time at the track.

I borrowed a line from an earlier post.
I was talking to my ex-wife asking if their company still had a car fax account. She employs a car guy who maintained an account for their company for the purpose of shopping for company vehicles. Anyhow she asked him to reply to my question. He tells me "no, they don't have one anymore, what am I shopping for?" I tell him a 135i. He replies "oh, a baby beemer, interesting." To which I replied "yeah, a baby pit bull". Thank you to that previous poster. After I got it home I took the ex for a ride and even let her drive. The next day I get a text from the car guy asking for a ride. That was pretty entertaining. |

Conversation with a new neighbour who owns a 335i E92.
Neighbour: Hey, nice BMW. Me: Thanks, yours too, I used to own one. Neighbour: I love my 335i, it flies. Why did you change to a 1-Series and what's in a 135i? Me: Better driver enjoyment, better brakes, it's much more a driver's car and I felt the 3-series was more of a cruiser. Oh, and same engine as yours Neighbour: Sh*t, that must fly, take me for a spin sometime. That's generally the same talk I have with everyone..."what's a 135i?", "3.0 TT", "damn!" |

Bringing this thread back to life!
(Not really a question or funny phrase but this still was pretty hilarious..) On my way home today, i noticed a white BMW with Lux angel eyes behind me with black rims. He was tail gating me for a bit until he decided to go into the other lane. I was going to give him the duece, but since he was tail gating me, i decided to see what kind of tool was driving the BMW. As he passed me, he gave me the middle finger. I thought it was a 335i, but as he cut me off to get into my lane, the badge said "328i". I guess he thinks his 328i is faster, lighter, more expensive, and overall better...what a shame. |

Pretty sure that's why this thread died in the first (second and third) place.
Title is "Funniest phrases/questions you've heard about your 1er". WAY too many anecdotes that have had nothing to do with "funny". Just sayin'... |

If we're talking "funny" then surely this thread should have been closed ages ago with one example...
"You have a 135i, that's a 3.5L like the 350Z". That must be the most common and most stupid, uneducated example. I think this thread turned into a 1er praise/hate thread but I like reading it. It seems expecially in the U.S you get stick for owning a baby BMW, in Europe the car is average size and if anything attracts bad attention because they feel you have too much money vs what they spent on a Renault Clio, VW Passat or whatever. |

lol. This is one of the funniest threads I have seen yet.
I had a friend who tried to convince me when I bought mine it was a girls car and his Ford XR6 was harder. After a pointless discussion for 30 minutes were I was told I was wrong and my car wasn't a twin turbo and wasn't rear wheel drive I took him for a drive. When we got back he apologised and last week went looking at 135i's. Also get lots of the why didn't you buy a 3 series. The 3cl twin turbo normally fixes that when they see the size of the car. Makes me laugh at the stupidity of some people. |

Yesterday while drying my car after the touchless carwash an older M3 pulls up..."mine next?"....I say "sure." The dude parks and walks over...
"shoulda got a 1M" I mutter to myself..."No shit...I wish!" Out loud I say..."yeah those are pretty hard to find" He tells me he coulda had one but chose to keep his 02 that he bought for "17.5k OTD" because he was a current M owner. Insult to injury...spending the next 15min listening to him tell me how fast and superior his stock "346" crank horsepower 02' is. I respect the car and keep my mouth shut and just listen... His parting words... "car looks nice, maybe a 1M someday huh?" Ugggg.....
