I would really recommend this upgrade. Ofcourse we should wait for some tests. But, it's all BMW, fully idiot prove & warranty. And, like we all know, BMW is does give the 'at least' power numbers(!). All our standard 135i's perform in daily life around the 320/325bhp. I am sure this upgrade will hit the 350bhp.

My thoughts are that This kit plus a turbo-back exhaust will be PLENTY of power for this car. Maybe an intake too if I find it necessary. I will stop at that and move to the suspension. Thoughts?

I recon with intake scoops, a better airfilter, a performance exhaust and the BMW tune it will most likely return the best part of 350BHP anyway. Wouldn't harm to have the DDV'd done too

The more I drive this car the more I believe it needs slightly stiffer suspension such as the performance catalog suspension. It feels too soft up front.

BLASPHEMY.... how can you have plenty or too much power... as impractical as it would be, I'd roll with 1khp if I could daily drive it pleasantly.

Sorry guys, but I've waiting for this as well so I asked the dealership when I was in for something and the service manager said it looks like a no-go from Germany.
My suspicion is that they're worried about increasing the HPFP fail rate, a recall of which would be hugely expensive. Even if there is no hard evidence linking the 2 issues, management could say the risks might be 1000x the value of the benefit to the company. I hope this is wrong and a price announcemnet is in the works.

the above seems the most likely to be honest, because it's been so long now with no updates

The car is fine power-wise - heck unreal - tires are the weak spot. Like others mention suspension could be upgraded but stock is fine for street. This is the perfect car for me with a stick no idrive etc.
mwerks seems to agree: http://www.mwerks.com/artman2/publis...m_wrapup.shtml Did just get my letter from BMW on the upgraded warranty for the fuel pump. |

This is starting to become very disheartening. I say we wait it out a little bit longer. I dont understand why its so difficult to engineer an engine piece that wont fail.

This cannot be true! Or else they would not be selling the 7 series with this motor and 326 hp. I will absolutely not believe your silly service manager.

I talked to BMW's performance line manager the other day and he said it's coming, just be patient!

I'm hoping to order a 2010 in Sept or Oct and I definately want this and the perf suspension and exhaust. I've gotta think that the stock car with zmp and those 3 dealer options will be bitchen. |
