I recommend emailing Rick directly for a tracking number if you haven't received it already. I know he's sent all of them out now so it's out of his hands, hopefully it shows up soon. You're going to love it Kenny

Cheers

Hey Jack. Everything seems to be covered in this link http://www.p3cars.com/install/bmw/

In answer to your questions - Right Button HOLD = Night / Day Dimmer toggled (if auto-dimming is not enabled).

Also, if you want to turn off your gauge completely, go into the Config Menu after you turn off your car. Then go to - D.On and the options are On or Off or On.A Turn the gauge display ON or OFF or ON-Auto-Dimming (if you have attached the green wire to your dimmer line). Re-enter the config menu by holding the first button while starting the car to re-enable gauge.

Let me know if you have anymore questions

Most likely a noob install question here, but I just want to double check I am tapping the red/gray wire correctly.

With the purple tap, do I simply seat the wire in it and clamp the tap shut? Or do I need to do some trimming of the wire coating then tap it?

Found my answer over at e90. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=207

Gauge is installed w/ analog boost line, auto dimmer and the OBDII splitter.

I referenced this install ink for the most part -
http://www.rixeffects.com/files/135ivg_install.pdf

Your the man Rick . This gauge rocks!

How do you calibrate the gauge to the analog boost line? Mine works on digital, but it's giving strange readings on the analog setting.

Based on your post, it appears you have a 2011 MY 1er meaning you have a N55. Where did you run your analog line to in your engine bay? It is my understanding that there are not any vacuum lines to tap for n55. (I own a n54)

For n55, you will want to run your gauge on the digital setting in the config menu (Bst.d). As mentioned by Rick's post here http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=27 and in the install guide
http://p3cars.com/install/bmw/. You will also want to ensure your gauge is set to n55 in the config menu.

Make these config updates and see if your readings match this other n55 owner http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=513542.

Thanks, this seems to work fine. I didn't know if it was working right because I don't get much vacuum and it seems to peak at about 8.6psi (I'm running a JB3 so it should be around 11). Must be part of the 'trickery' that goes on.

Is there a way to have it permanently dimmed?

I find it a little bright during the day, when I turn my parkers on (to dim the screen) its perfect

Still waiting to hear something, anything about the gauge I ordered. I did get a google checkout survey about this company, holding off on filling it out, hopefully I can say good things.

Well I got my shipping notice from Google Checkout on the 19th, but I just saw this from the USPS tracking page:

Quote:
Your item left the United States from ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS) at 2:49 pm on May 27, 2011. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.
So hopefully soon...

MrBlonde, your order should have shipped as I latched onto this very late so mine should have been one of, if not the very last RHD gauges to be ordered.

Hey guys, hang in there, it should be here any day now. In my experience USPS are hopeless with updating the tracking on their website, so it might show up randomly. That's happened to me in the past a few times.
