I'm at 108K hope I don't have Turbos in my near future. But mine were replaced at 49K. When you replace them will you go after market for the turbos? Are your turbos original? Dinan has rebuilt ones that are better than stock replacements. __________________

PA135i,
My turbos were never replaced under the BMW warranty, They are original. I never had an issue until a little over a year ago when the car started to go into "limp mode" often. I lived with the issue because other things happened with the car, (HPFP issues, Electric water pump issues and most recently the Fuel injectors had to be replaced). Now the only code that is reoccuring is the 30FF code. I will be purchasing aftermarket MITSUBISHI turbos (both banks). Hopefully these turbos have solved the problem of the wastegate rattle problem. As for Dinan....I would love too but after just dropping $2600.00 on new Fuel injectors I need this fix to be reasonably priced and I found the Mitsubishi turbos for $699.00 each.

Engine oil Blackstone lab report at 193,000 miles
Quote from the report:
"Your first report from your BMW [report was at 150,000 miles) was nice, but we're seeing even better results for your second sample from the engine. This was a similar oil change interval you got reductions in both aluminum and iron, which is great. The other metals are quite steady. The oil is in fine physical condition and came out ofthe engine showing a correct viscosity and no measurable contamination from things like fuel, dirt, or coolant. Oil filtration is getting the job done, as seen by the 0.3% insolubles. Looks like a solid engine as you come up on 200,000 miles. Keep it up!" Oil service schedule info: Only BMW 5W-30 oil 7,000-7,500 mileage interval Mann oil filter |

135i 2008 year one of the one convertible 122,537. I replace the water pump at 94000 and I replace the serpentine belt and pulleys locked up and 107000 other than that we're all good. Been a little slow to start lately not sure what's going on I thought I need to replace the fuel filter but I can't find any info on that

102500 miles. Replaced waterpump and oilfilter housing gasket this past year. Replaced xenon ballast and have been running with adaptive headlight error for almost a year--can't be bothered to have it fixed.
Also cracked a rim 2 months ago. Still on original HPFP and turbos. Plan to keep the car roughly 8 more months/15,000 miles. Oil has never gone past 6000 miles. Still feel like i'm playing with fire here. |

150k on my 2008. Usual issues (HPFP, turbos). Other than that just as strong as day one. I will drive it until wheels fall off.
I've done this with previous 9 BMW's I've owned. From recollection the lowest mileage on any of them when selling was 220k. |

95k on my 2011 DCT. Still dealing with my random trans overheat issue comes up every few months. OFHG is leaking again, albeit very slightly. Dash has a bad bubble by the passenger airbag. Otherwise, the car is still holding together just fine. Planning on trading in the car in the coming weeks since I feel like I'm playing with fire given the trans warnings.

72k (I started in January at 56K) I thought I might put less miles on this car than my G35 or Maxima, but damn if I don't love driving it sooo much. But at 20k/year, I'll need to learn how to do some of this stuff myself. I just hope to make 120k without too many issues, then keep the 135 but get a new DD. My EW goes away at 100k.

It's very hard to find a good older car for less than $10K...

Depending on preferences, there's some pretty reasonable cars out there for under 10k. |

196,474 miles - Final Total Running Costs, etc
Yesterday I sold my 2008 128i 6MT. Here's the wrap up:
I was the car's second owner Paid $22,500 in Nov 2011 Sold for $5,000 in October 2016 Mileage in 2011: 35,XXX Mileage in October 2016: 196,474 Miles driven: 161,XXX Total fuel cost: $15,465 Total maintenance costs: $11,689 Total insurance costs: $3,468 Total license fees: $284 List of repairs: Mass Ais Sensor OFHG Oil pan gasket Front right brake caliper ABS sensor NO OTHER REPAIRS All other maintenance costs are fluid changes and wear items. Other highlights: Car was kept stock. 0 upgrades. Original clutch still in use Blackstone Labs last two reports (posted on this forum) indicate a very healthy engine. Maintenance intervals - see other posts on this forum Supplies used: BMW oil and coolant, Ate brake fluid CHS 113 power steering fluid, Red Line gear box and diff fluids, OEM brake pads, Meyle rotors, Mann filters. I think this car highlights the reliability of a BMW NA engine if it is maintained on a rigorous schedule. |

Just about to hit my 79K mark...just had my brakes, oil, air filter, and battery changed out. Running strong. So tempted to mod it up though...so tempting... |

Yep. They came out when I was in high school and I'd always wanted one. It's a pig on gas (averaging about 21-22mpg), but they're dead nuts reliable and the 5spd and LSD make it plenty entertaining to drive.
Now I just need to resist the urge to mod it lol. |

I wanted to hit 200K as well, but I decided to pull the trigger on a 2017 Porsche Macan S. So I'll be starting a new High Mileage thread on the Macan forum in 6 months or so. But I did sell it to a racing teammate, so the car is in good hands, and I'll be able to keep track of any maintenance/repairs. I'll try and keep providing updates. I enjoyed the many DIYs, comments, and postings on this site. |
