John and Jeff (Geoff?) it was nice meeting you guys! Had a great day at the supersprint and definitely looking forward to doing more next year. Full review on bmwgarage.com.au forum.

It was good to meet you both too.
Going to try and give the President a run for his money next year

I didn't crack it into the 1:11's which was my goal. The time is there but i couldn't string a good lap together with out mistakes on my part.

At least i beat the new M5 - Seems he couldn't stay on the track

I look fwd to a few more 1er's there next year. We need to try and plan to park together.

Till Next year

Jeff (you got it right )

Nice to meet you both, Jeff and Alex. My times are well off you too, but it was a lot of fun. I'm curious to know how Alex is able to do those times using street tyres.

Yeah definitely. I got there at 7.35 and the entire front row of garages was already taken

I'm not sure if you saw, but I went off really badly on the 2nd lap of session 4 (my last session). My brake pedal just went to the floor and couldn't stop in time. Ended up in the gravel trap.

What time did you end up getting at the end John?

Is 1.11.43 really that good on street tyres? I was actually hoping to get around my friend's time with his Evo 9 on the same Federal 595 RSRs. He got a 1.08.xx

I managed a 1.12 with completely stock suspension so definitely you should be able to get it. Just gotta try and get the lines correct so you maintain as much speed through the corner as possible. I'm hoping that with street tyres, my current suspension and with a proper brake fluid flush I can get into the 1.10s and maaaaaybe 1.09s.

On second thoughts, I don't know about those tires, because I heard they are sticky enough to strip paint . I was using the R888 and quite happy because they seem quite consistent over a range of temperature during the warm weather. I did one day with the Michelin PSS back in July and I would have expected those tyres to have serious issues on a warm day and hot track surface. Seriously I thought you did a great time compared to the other drivers who do this on a regular basis (some with AWD cars as you mentioned). Your car has heaps of potential, so I think its fair to expect you will go faster with better tyres, revised camber setting and whatever tuning is needed for handling balance. In the end I got a best of 1.13.59. Being new, I was conservative on turns 1 and 2. I am sure I can improve my lines as you say. Maybe reduce tire pressure for more grip and some other things to think about for next time. I was happy to have a good day out and come home without issues.

Wow a 1.13 is a great time considering it was your first time at Wakefield. The first time I went there I only got a 1.16 PB.

I can't wait for the nest supersprint! Especially with some properly working brakes!

Hmmmm, they have the option to invite anyone but I'm not 100% sure. Best to call up don and see if it's cool to attend. The entry forms were supposed to be sent in by today but I'm sure it's cool if they got space.

All good, I almost missed it myself haha. It would be great to have you there!

If you're not a member you should just join. Doesn't cost too much and it's pretty good if you're planning on coming to the other events during the year.
