Got back from business trip yesterday at 2 pm. Started the install at 2:30 pm. Finished at 3 pm. It was a breeze of an install and looks good. The tabs are more or less nonexistent on the diffuser though...opposite of the problem I've heard on the scorpion diffusers. It worries me that it might come loose from the bumper without having tabs to help keep it locked in place. The fitment is a 7.5 out of 10 in my opinion. It has a quarter of an inch gap on each side, but fits flush along the top. Sine the tabs are very small I couldn't really use some forced pressure to pull the bumper in and lock it in with the tabs and then tighten the screws. The carbon fiber is pretty consistent along the entire piece. There are a few spots where the weave seems to be out of place, but it isn't noticeable unless you get at eye level and look closely. I'll post pics tomorrow. Overall I think it was a great purchase and really enhanced the rear end of my car. LCI black line tails are next for it.

I think the jest of this thread is all about the economics of purchasing a CF rear diffuser. I believe the ModBargins is on the more expensive end of the market. I'm sure the ModBargins would fit better and have a better fiber pattern than the eBay CF diffusers. Would you like to be the ginny pig and pick one up and let us know how it goes?

Yeah, I would go with the ModBargins one over the Scorpion solely based on all the issues people have complained about with the tabs on them. Good luck! Keep us posted on what you do.

I recieved the diffuser from Mod Bargains. I will open it up after work and take some pictures of the weave, hopefully installing it tomorrow after work.

Here are some quick pictures. Overall the weave is good enough for what I paid for... cant expect perfection. One thing I noticed...there are no holes along the bottom of the diffuser. On the factory one, it looks like there are a series of screws holding it in place. Is there any good DIY's on this forum for this install? |
