I need to see how the Stig drives it . For sure Itll look really good in AW with aftermarket parts from here and there.

I havent read the comments but to me this is a 135i with a Z4 35is tune minus the brilliant DCT + some suspension upgrades and bodykit and minus the lovely 6 piston brakes from the 135i. The gearbox looks to be the same as the 135i?

in my eyes a sporty car need to be low and wide, but this is just the opposite, high and thin, glad i have a 3er nothing against the performance-numbers tough, it will be fast on the track.

I know how to drive a manual transmission. But numbers dont lie and DCT is faster. Taking the 4.7 into account, DCT would bring it down to about 4.5s 0-60 aka... M3 range.

More detail here: http://www.bmwblog.com/2010/12/10/wo...eries-m-coupe/ A lot of suspension R&D has been put into this car. 6-speed has an upgraded flywheel, dry sump cooling system. Final drive ratio is 3.15: 1. I would much rather have the brakes on the new 1M (M3 brakes), than piston-counter brakes on the 135i. Lets not forget the LSD. This car is a lot more car than the Z4 35is, for far less money. |

Nothing special. I would get a base canadian 135I with no sunroof buy the overpriced Bmw performance seats, the overpriced PPK, all the ///M gizmos, t-shirt, pens, golf balls and still be under this car price. I can't see someone in their right mind trading in a 135 for this HOWEVER for someone that doesnt have a 135I it's a great car. Honestly the 335is is starting to make more sense. I wasn't holding my breath for that 1 ///M
If I had still had my 135I, it would have made more sense to keep it and buy a used E46 M3 to the garage rather then taking a bath for that car.

Car looks amazing except the rear end looks FUGLY! I would buy an E-30 M3 or E46 M3 before the 1M coupe. I don't like Turbo motors well see how well M division did with the cooling but I think it will suffer on the track. My E-90 M3 suffers DCT overheating when pushed hard on the track. It looks like I wont be buying anymore new BMW's for the considerable future. I hope Porsche stays NA my next move will be a 997.2 GT3

I have done that route also. Bought a gt3 mk2 after my e90 m3. Porsche atmo s are pure porn. This 1 series M is nice for a daily drifter and some sideways shopping for driving on track all day you can better take the GT3. |

BMW resurrected the E46 M3.. pretty much the same specs...
+1 on the no sunroof +1 on the extra wide (width not diameter) wheels (E46 got tiny ones) +1 on the manual transmission and I cant believe how few people ask about the LSD... and how many ask about the DCT... What are you guys buying this car for? There are better car to haul your grocery. |

Why are they calling it a twin-power turbo I wonder?
Is it a N54 long block, with a single twin scroll maybe? I can't read German that well. Thanks for posting those links BTW! Quote:
