Hello bimmer family, this morning I took my son to the airport, I'm still trying to do the breaking thing, I'm about 810 miles but I got on the hightway I started pushing it because when we it the highway about 7:50 my sons says "Dad I made a mistake my flight departs 9:05 not 9:50" so I kicked it up a couple of knoches to about a 100mph sometimes 120, it normally take me about 45 minutes to 1 hour to get to the airport, we arrive at 8:30, he made his flight, on the way back I was taken it easy averaging about 85MPH and about a 1/2 mile from my exit there was Mr. state trooper sitting in the grassy area on my left, he pulled up behind me, ask me for my drivers license and proof of insurance, went back to his car, came back and gave a ticket for $104.00 doing 74 in a 70, and the only thing he said was thanks for serving our country, now I know for a fact I was doing about 90 when I passed him, he also stated that this ticket will not reflect on my license or my insurance, this is the first ticket I have received since 1998, OH well I send in the money order and call it quit.

My car is a week old with 700kms(435miles) on it. From Amsterdam to Lelystad I got it to 240kmh(150mph) easily for a few seconds.(Traffic was still around) Compared to the 330i its really faster to 200kmh(125mph) but A LOT FASTER FROM 200-240kmh(125-150mph), THAT's the real advantage of this 335i: More power. Our EU 335i tachos go to 280kmh(175mph) and unrestricted I am 100% sure it flies to that speed. At 150 it was like 130 in the 330i. And it hasn't been broken in yet

140mph three times whilst test-driving E92 335d coupe. VERY comfortable and composed at that speed with more obviously to come. Roll-on in fourth from 60-100mph is awesome - easliy as quick as vishnu's 335i if not quicker IMHO. The real thing is how solid and steady the 335d feels at speed: my last car was a Z4 M and that felt pretty scary at 140mph-ish on normal roads although I imagine it would feel far more composed at such speeds on motorways

in my last trip to UAE we reached 150 mph while racing a Merc C200K

i think that's quite good for a 2.0L car with 150 hp

Did 210km/h (a little over 130mph) during a trip to Germany last week, unfortunately at that time I ran out of open autobahn, and the weather was way to bad with to much traffic to give me a second chance.
On my way back the next day, I only managed to get to 200km/h due to rush hour traffic.

According to the technical specifications, top speed is 218km/h for this car...

after watching the autobahn special on National Geo and History channel i got the feeling that the bahn's safety is highly over rated and that there is some tension between those for and against speed limits.

not to put a damper on the the straight line speed of this car.....but let's face it, anything over 95mph on the freeway really places others in danger. You're much better off enjoying this ride in an enclosed track somewhere in your area. Safe and you can really test your skills - not to mention push the car to its limits. I personally think that BMW should give away (as part of all car sales) a free course on how to drive the car to it limits in an enclosed course (at the North Carolina Plant). HINT HINT upper management!!!!!!!

I got my 335i e92 last week and I took it to up to 110 mph!! I guess I shouldn't have pushed it BUT it's amazing how fast this machine goes without you even noticing
