by the way, i am talking about the REAR control arms.
those are not back pieces those are original TRW pieces with the ///M badge milled of with a dremel just like the front control arms set. here are 3 of the arms i got, the fourth one was in my buddies hand as for the front ones you gonna need JTC 1423 1424 1426 1427

I think there's a thread around here about how the rears are not a worthwhile upgrade, thread by our friend fe1rx if I remember correctly. I haven't had the chance to go through it but that is what I remember the outcome of his experiments to be.

Also for the fronts, unless you really need more camber (like dont want/have camber plates), you can just pop out the FTAB and pop in a monoball or an m3 bushing sold by turner and be done for a lot cheaper than 300 parts/labour/alignment.

Im going to be installing the M3 tension arms soon. What is the biggest difference in the feel? I already have the M3 control arms and they helped take alot of the front end "wiggle" away. I was told these made all the difference as they are directly responsible for wheel control under load. thoughts? btw FCPEuro for the win. Free shipping and military discount! :-)

I just had the 1M/M3 front control arms installed and holy hell what a difference that makes. Now, I still have the stock sway bars, rear control arms/bushings and I'm driving a convertible so I'm used to a little "play" in the corners thanks to all those things stacked up on each other.
HOWEVER! The front feels well planted and the rear can slide out with a little throttle movement and nothing else. Also, the understeer is practically GONE. I spent a good 5-8 mins going around a cloverleaf (which translates into me being totally dizzy and nauseous when I stopped ) and it was amazing. Car felt flat and controlled and upped my cornering confidence by a factor of 4. Totally worth it!

I had the F+R upper and lower control arms installed back in Dec, as well I did the subframe whiteline inserts a couple of years ago. Just love the handling improvements, however now I feel the springs/shocks are holding back the upgrades.

example of TRW OEM After market vs. OE Parts

If they do this to Mercedes parts...what do you think they do with BMW M parts? If you want to save your money now and pay later potentially...by all means, have at it. |

The TRW ones they sell are not aftermarket parts as has been gone through a million times here before. They are \\\M arms with the logo ground off. I guarantee if you bought the OEM ones they are the exact same thing minus the logo that was ground off. No different boot covers, no different joints, nothing.

This is what happens when you get a 3 series owner with an agenda. BTW Montego Blue looks way better on a 1 series vert.
