Anyone running stage 1 on cattless DPs and exhaust? Exhaust and DPs arrive next week and I hate to have to wait...
I ask because I though I remember reading somewhere that the cobb was causing overboost issues in the subarus with DPs... |

I just read all 16 pages of this thread and nobody has mentioned a GROUP-BUY in a while, so let me be that guy. How about a group buy?
Also, nobody from Cobb ever explained why the BMW unit costs 50% more than the Subaru unit. How many units have been returned so far? If you decide to sell those "used" units for $600, please let me know.

I hate to say it, but if you can afford this car and your parents didn't buy it for you, you should be able to afford it. This is a pretty minor upgrade in comparison to the rest of what you can do and for some of the biggest gains. With just this tune I was able to hold and slightly pull on a new M3 on the freeway, that's pretty good for just a tune. I'm sure it also has to do with the fact that they seem to just be jumping into the BMW side of things. That to me seems like they have to put in a ton more work in figuring these cars out in comparison to what they are more use to dealing with. Maybe I'm wrong.

Can anyone comment on the reliability or increased wear and tear after this tune? Should I just expect things to break or wear a lot faster with this added stress?

I think your best bet is to research the Subaru forum on this product and see from there. Its way too new to analyze if there are any long term effects but if its similiar to the Subaru outcome, I think everyone will be pretty happy!

Wouldn't be too accurate because subaru and bmw are totally different cars...I'm in for a group buy also if COBB decides to do one.

I perused subaru.com and found base prices for the STI @ $34k and the LIMITED @ $37k...which is comparable to the 135i, if I'm not mistaken.
Right now I'd buy it for $600. Once there is sufficient feedback from people who track their cars showing no problems with overheating, etc...then I might plop down $900. On that note, has anyone tracked with these reflashes? Any issues? Remarks?

For those people they can budget and save up for a flash that is easy to move in and out of car and can be sold when you sell the car (unlike say the ess i was looking at for my z4m - flash programmer, but locked to your car), and not have to get under the hood. Cobb is a 'premium' tune, so pay for it. Want to save, jb+, Jb4 pin out/pnp, procede can get you there for less but require you to get under the hood. I personally sold my jb4 for the ease of the cobb. This isn't the m5/m6 forum where people should have disposable income to afford those cars, this is the entry level (and a good one at that). I can recall the days i was broke and would have to think about what mod, when, best price, and then budget accordingly. Now I still look for best price and product, but don't have to wait.

HUUUUGGEE issue...Need help form the COBB experts and people who have it installed.
When I was driving today using the live Data monitoring system, I saw that the "boost" category had a high of 20.8 PSI! I didnt even take it to the red line...maybe like 6500 max. Does this mean the the stage 1 (93 oct) tune brings our tiny turbos to 20+ psi???? Because if it does....how has nobody blown a turbo yet???? |

I saw the same boost number as you did. I am pretty sure that the spike is between gear shifts. See this post: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=482419 |
