^^ Sir you are in bad need of a wider tire in the rear, I mean look how stretched it is even on a 9" wide wheel? No reason you cant run atleast a 255 in the back

Scorpion with bad installation, sand down the taps and it will fit nicely.

Hi,
Would anyone know if a BMW style 157 wheel from a 3 series (17 X 8 I think) will fit a 2008 128i coupe with no sport package? I have been unable to get a definitive answer about this. Thanks in advance. Ed |

After reading through the whole thread I feel like this question is silly but any chance 18x9 et 40 will fit up front? Came across a nice set of rims for cheap, square setup with 18x9 et 40 all the way around.

Alot of pages to go through here. I did a search, but didn't see these exact numbers, so I'm reposting this from another thread for anyone who searches for this in the future.
Wheels: Stock 18" Tires: Continental ExtremeContact DWS 235/35/18 all around Tirerack had special pricing on that size only for the Continental DSWs last week, so I took a chance I could make them fit and ordered a set to get me through the winter. The fronts were a real bitch to mount on the wheels with the equipment I have, but after about an hour of fighting it, I finally got the first one on. The other side only took me 15 mins or so since I then knew the trick. I don't have pics handy, but they actually don't even appear to bulge much at the front (nor do they stretch in the rear). They all look pretty damned straight up-and-down at all 4 corners. If anyone really cares and wants pics, just let me know. |

As for the load, it is rated 86. I can't say I am an expert, but that equates to 1168 lbs. So, theoretically, enough for a 4400+lb car? And they are Y rated for speed, so more than enough there, too. Last edited by Qbrozen; 01-06-2012 at 01:48 PM.. |

Awesome, How about the front and rear tire looking from the rear down the side. Anyway, sounds good.
What is your tire change set up, I'm looking to get a manual setup for my garage and a motorcycle wheel type balancer. |

IIRC, I paid $550 for it (about $1500 new), and it was barely used. It has MORE than paid for itself by now. I have changed more than 50 tires with it so far. For balancing, I just use an old-school bubble balancer. I've had better results with that than the electronic balancers. Plus, it takes up very little space in my garage. Not to mention it was free; a leftover from when my father had his own shop. Oh, even found an image of my exact one:

Wheels: no idea
Front: 8" / ET38 Spacer: none Rear: 9" / ET38 Spacer: none Tires: Front: Continental SportContact 3 / 225 / 18" Rear: Continental SportContact 3 / 245 / 18" Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber: none Notes: Perfect except for one very sharp dip where I get a slight rub @ the rear. SC3's have a rounded shoulder which helps. 255's on Hankook's V12's rubbed a lot worse (both width & squarer shoulder). Currently rear tyres extend ~2-3mm from fender, front tyres flush. Sorry no pics from side angles Looking @ OZ Alleggerita 18" ET40 F / ET40 R as next purchase. Lighter, stronger, better quality finish. Will keep same tyre combo as I have now.
