I needed a mindless movie to distract my brain for a bit.
Well, I found one.

This was really mediocre.

It was like the writer had just watched The Thing, Edge of Tomorrow, and Starship Troopers - decided to mash them together, and eliminate everything unique about all three.
The thing and edge of tomorrow were outstanding. The book, starship troopers, was brilliant.

Anyway, I watched the last 30 minutes of dune (2021) again. Villanueva is a brilliant Director. I far prefer a simple fight demonstrating how deadly death is, to 40 superheroes and 40 super villains punching each other. It really is a brilliant film. And I did not like the book at all.

Yup, we already got that guy who played the fire dude in Fantastic Four, then that Captain America guy. They're all interchangeable, decent-looking stars but nothing stands out.

It was ok, but had huge plot holes……

Here's a pic of Chris Pratt early in his career as Andy Dwyer, a slacker boyfriend in the TV series Parks and Recreations.

PS - this obviously is not his best look but I was trying to make a point; that he wasn't always the handsome, square-jawed hero that we know today. lol

He was entertaining as star lord in guardians.
At the same time, that movie didn’t exactly take itself so seriously… so his schtick kinda worked.

Did you notice my lol at the end of my post?

Kidding aside, I like some of the movies he's in.

Also liking the TV series The Terminal List (sort of).

No, I didn't haha, nice one! (Was wondering what you're talking about, square-jawed...studly now like Chris Hemsworth? Getting confused...oh well...)

I was shocked by it. I love a bug movie but expected 70's dross and got a really, really, really good movie with a proper story and character development and even ok effects.
That and alien were really really good.
Alien and the thing were two of my first movies as a kid. I'll still watch them anytime they come on. Also-Aliens was one of the best sequels of all time, imo.

Recently watched the new Batman, it's fantastic, almost a must watch...

Also recently watched a new 2022 documentary on NatGeo entitled "We Feed People" - and I would consider it a must watch.

I thought as the Batman Patterson was one of the best ever, but as Bruce Wayne he wasn't nearly as good.

I gave up on watching the Batman movies. Too many Batmans, too many movies. Just lost interest. Maybe I will give the latest one a try. Maybe.

Watched Thor: Love & Thunder yesterday. It was enjoyable and similar silliness from Guardians of Galaxy. It’s not going to be an Oscar winning movie but enjoyable Marvel movie nonetheless.
