2.5 miles, 165HR, felt good. Temp in the upper 40s, no wind, perfect running weather.

Small cramp in my right calf that needs to get worked out.

Tonight's run will be more sprints with rest: soccer.

2.5 miles, usual run. 170 HR. Felt some hip pain so I will take a few days off. The past few weeks have been the highest weekly mileage ever for me, and I need to be careful about injury/overuse.

2.5 miles, good run. 156HR. Hip pain from 2 days ago didn’t reappear so that’s good. I like having one or two days off between runs. My fitness and weight are the best they have ever been and I am not training for a time, distance or race. Avoid injury is the goal!

2.5 miles, 163HR, good run. Upper 30sF, feeling chilly on the legs until the blood gets moving. Taking 2 days off helps with the hip discomfort.

I'm about 45 days out from Santa to the Sea. Annual 1/2 marathon with required donation of unwrapped toy as entry fee. It's SUPPOSED to be for the kids in our neighborhood, but the word got out and nobody has the heart to turn kids away.

Oh, I'm doing the 5K . . . next year I move up to 60+ age bracket.

I don't think that this is your run log but good for you for getting out there.

My legs were so heavy last night, due to playing outfield the whole game in Friday night soccer. I normally spend half a game in goal.
Left heel is starting to give me some issues. It's normally the arch (plantar fasciitis) but the last couple Saturdays after a game I need to walk a bit before things loosen up.

Maybe since I'm pushing 60, I should stop all this running and playing. MAYBE.

Or change form/technique. I had hip bursitis fairly badly and changed running form after taking 7 years off. It is working. I am just a bit younger than you. Also if there is any extra weight, that doesn't help joints, tendons and ligaments. Consider targeting mid-healthy range BMI.

Certainly true. At the end of last soccer season, I told myself: self, you can't keep doing this at 210-215. I no longer eat lunch at work, and am down to 198. Would ideally like to get to 185, but my wife makes EXCELLENT Hispanic food . . .

New running shoes! NB 1080v14, my fourth pair of 1080s. They fit well, look good (subjective) and are comfortable. First run will be tomorrow morning, if white stuff from the sky permits.

So if I run on the deck of the cruise ship while we steam from San Diego to Vallarta, will I get extra credit from Runkeeper for distance covered? I imagine the tracking will look something like a storm track across the ocean, with circles moving south

Ran 2.5 miles yesterday in New Mexico at 7,000ft elevation, 163HR, good run. I was surprised the AHR wasn't higher because of the elevation. The scenery here!

2.5 mile run today, 7,000 feet elevation, 151 HR. Felt good. Surprised about the reduced heart rate, given higher elevation and I have not been running as often as I was in October. Time for the distance today was the same as the last run, where I had 160+ HR.
