Good Day all.
i have a 125i non m sport. so no rear sway/anti roll bar and stock front one. i managed to pick up a 26mm front and 12mm rear off a 135i. the plan is to fit those, well, the mechanic, when i go get the brakes done. my next plan is to start replacing the control arms as i am now on 180kkm and the car is a 2010. i was thinking of going E90/92 M3 control arms and and possibly in the rear, the pricing is actually so close to the 125 stuff anyway. i plan to replace the shocks with standard ones....i am happy with the ride and height, car is low enough at standard. The comfort on non run flats is great. Someone was telling me i wont be able to fit the M3 control arms etc as i am at standard height and the geometry will not work. is this true? thanks for your help.

Man, reading this thread was such a blast from the past and, in hindsight, even more hilarious there was a bunch of people talking smack about OEM and the TRW arms in particular, considering the prevailing opinion and what people choose to buy these days
Well now, 13 years later, you're all finally correct. Vindication! Malaysian made TRW M3 arms are of inferior quality, seen many many reports of it. And a lot of listings that say German made, ship Malaysian ones. They don't even seem to be forged any more The German ones never were inferior/seconds, and definitely not factory seconds 😂. RIP to the best deal the platform had. Hopefully you got your answer a year ago elsewhere but yes it works fine. Simply pushes the bottom of the wheel out for 0.75° camber. |
