Now PLEASE quote where I said the Mustang was going to be lighter. The 1400kg number came straight out of your ass. No one with any knowledge of automotive engineering believes this car will only weight 3000lbs, and the inside source that's been posting here has specifically stated 1500kg (which I quoted for you in the other thread), which is 3300lbs. Brevity has NEVER been your thing. Your posts on this subject have continually been nothing but long winded and pointless ramblings about how BMW can do no wrong. You lack perspective, you a lack objectivity, you lack experience, and you a basic understanding of the physics involved, yet still attempt to reference them to back your preformed opinions. Not responding to me (or anyone else) was what you should have done in the first place. Enjoy that high...it's all you've got. Some time it's better to remain silent......Bro. |

There's a bunch in the photos section. The WSTO car is probably the best looking 135i on the streets to date IMO. Those wheels make the car. Edit for link: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=327276 |

The U.S. is BMW's largest market and I believe the ///M1 is chiefly being developed or us here in the states. (Not that it won't be sold and do well in other countries as well)

John, Thank you for the opportunity to not have to rely on my only source of information. I will be best able to watch from a position of knowledge. Thanks again! I look forward to the link. This is something I want, not something I need. When I get back to my office I will forward you the link with the head of the M division confirming it will be brought into the states. That being said I am simply holding off a few months on the purchase of the 135 just to make sure that the M1 is not coming to the states. If I feel as though the direction has changed and it is not US bound then I will get the 135. ------Original Message------ From: To: Subject: RE: RE: Sent: Jan 26, 2010 12:44 PM Message No problem John. My sales manager who is normally on top of all manufacturing possibilities had made the statement about the M1. So I hope your source is more accurate for your sake. I will keep you on my list and will get you info to you as it comes. Thanks. Rallye BMW (516)833-4830 office (919)949-1409 mobile (516)393-9504 fax |

The Original M1 roadcar was not a turbo. Only the racing versions were turboed and produced something like 7 or 800 HP

Yeah, if the M 1er is anywhere near the price of an M3, I'd just go an M3 and enjoy a more 'traditional' driving experience with a manual and NA V8. More room and better options. UNLESS the 1er gets seats like the CSL and other sexy gizmos which make it more track orientated. They should considering an optioned 135i with lux gear is the 'inexpensive' M3 path. 1er needs to go in a slightly different direction to M3/optioned 135i. Along the lines of the M3 GTS but with a few creature comforts. Come on, how much weight do you actually save by removing the radio and AC? Just my 3c which is worth more than your 2c |

More than you'd think... wiring and speakers are heavy, so is the ac unit and plumbing. However, I agree with you that the car needs to differentiate itself from the ///M3 and M-Sport 135i.

Thanks.
Scott: Another thought I just had -- I really hope that ///M spends some time to properly tune the exhaust on this car. IMO it is really difficult to get a turbo car to sound good (subjective) and I hope they do it from the factory so we don't have to look aftermarket. I'm not expecting Ferrari sounds here, but could they try to remove the rasp while still sounding sporty/exotic in tone? Thank you in advance. Love, ///M1 Brand Ambassador
