Here are some preliminary pictures before i can get to making a video, friday i should have time to do the install and try to get a video review.
adjustment screws to fine tune the aim of the beams the lever here is to adjust the cutoff for left hand drive or right hand drive another view and here is one powered with a 12v power supply which i believe is slightly higher than the stock coding for the lights, i will need to find my volt meter to check when i'm ready for install there is a slight discontinuity at the bottom of the ring that is only barely visible |

also wanted to mention the seal around the lense seems to be pretty good, but i will do a better inspection when i have time. |

It does appear that Depo changed these lights. For one, the halo rings aren't blue plastic anymore. Two, it appears the light source is a single one located at the bottom of the rings, as opposed to the four individual ones that each ring has in the older version.

Updated link above with installed pic, video will come soon as i dont have the time to work on the car.
i already wrote this once but accidentally closed tab so i will make this brief, the fit is as expected, almost OEM with some adjustment, the headlights do allow for a good amount of play and will need it to make things align correctly. output is a little lower with the original halogen h7 bulbs, but the cutoff looks nice, slight curve upwards toward the outer edges that is the good stuff and i can answer question if anyone needs more information. as for myself i do need to know if anyone can answer what this clip is for, i did not find its dual in the original headlight, nor does it seem to be needed for full function of the headlight and the angel eyes the second issue i have is a flickering when the angel eyes dim on and off, when they are turned on to full power instantaneously they seem fine, but when they dim on as the courtesy lights would when unlocking the car it would flicker, i tried to record this as well as possible, i apologize for the vertical video as this was done quickly on my phone and i did not think to rotate the phone properly. a friend of mine said i would possibly need a ballast similar to ones for HID so that i can regulate and give the angel eyes a clean current to run on, if anyone can shine some light on my issues it would be much appreciated. |

As for the flickering, I don't think there's a fix you can implement with coding, so you'd have to go some other route like the one you suggest (though not sure how or if that would work). The car uses PWM to control the lights and with a normal tungsten bulb you don't see the flickering because the bulb filament doesn't cool off fast enough to make it noticeable. Since the LEDs are instant on and off, you see the PWM dimming them. P.S. get your corner markers coded off and rock the full Euro look

Not that I know of, but I do think you can code the lights so that they just turn on and off rather than gradually coming on and slowly dimming.

As of right now this is some logic I was able to come up with, if anyone knows please correct me if in wrong
Top is how the angel eyes are now, bottom is where I would like to place a capacitor, which would allow for the LED to still see the same voltage, and the current would be smoothed out and hopefully delete the flickering. With a large enough capacitor it should delay the LED enough to not visibly see a change in output. |

Heres a more detailed video i just made
includes pre-coding and post coding for euro look. IMPORTANT! I feel it should be added that the stock bulbs do not allow enough light output with these projectors, so I must push that anyone who gets this should also look to pick up HIDs along with the headlights. It is enough to get by but not enough to use as a permanent option. The flickering has not been fixed yet as i am waiting to receive the capacitors in the mail. If this works i will post a short how-to, and once i get everything up and running to what i believe to be fully satisfactory (no flickering, correct output, etc) i may start a new thread with a single post with all details. And a quick shoutout to Alex@alpine for the short notice appointment and coding, added many new convenience features, very happy with service. Link to his thread is here in case anyone needs it Last edited by de31p5; 08-17-2013 at 04:08 AM.. |

Looks like the v2 Depos do a nice job with the AEs. I had LEDs in my v1 Depos and they never flickered, so the flickering in yours is weird.

I must thank you once again for the latest video. That was the most descriptive one I've seen that gives all those different looks. I think this will greatly help those on the fence thinking about buying Depos. I'm going to be getting mine in the fall.

mine will be up for sale in a few weeks. my water condensation has stopped after I adjusted the back caps a bit. hopefully it stays that way. I'll be buying another set of depos to have rebuilt locally with v4 angel eyes and then selling the set in my car.
