Did all "is" models come with the dimpled aluminum trim? (I'm not sure what it's called exactly)
I'm not a huge fan of it :/. Would much rather have preferred the smooth brushed aluminum. |

Yep, they all came with Glacier Aluminum trim. I like it a lot more in person than I did in the photos. I thought about swapping it for the glossy CF trim, but I have a friend that did that to his and its just too dark. I like the stock one for a bit more contrast.

Brushed would definitely look good. Although I have gotten compliments on the current trim, it feels a little plasticky to me.

Just removed my OEM spoiler and prepped the trunk for the BMW Performance spoiler install.
I gotta say...removing the adhesive from the trunk lid is honestly the hardest/worst thing I've done on the car so far. None of the DIY threads or YouTube videos I looked at prior gave a real sense of how much of a pain in the ass that is.

I just had my rear deck lip installed but on my way to the shop I injured myself, ended up in the ER with a torn ligament in my foot. So no photos and no driving for like 2 weeks at least!

That sounds horrendous. I don't know what I'd do. Every car we own is a manual so I'd be stuck at home or renting a car. Hope you feel better soon!

Also new to the forum today, taking delivery of a 135is DCT in LMB tomorrow morning. Just 1,600 miles on the clock. I've owned a lot of M cars in my life but wanting something newer and more nimble than what M is selling these days. Hoping the DCT will still keep me engaged in the driving experience as every car prior has been manual. Plans to autocross and track. Any "is" owners who do the same, please share how the car handles in these situations. Very excited to learn about the limited slip as that will be one the first investments I make. Seems like a great forum with passionate drivers. Glad I'm jumping in.

Welcome! Many of us bought out 'is' for the same reason as you, one of the last few drivers' cars from BMW. The N55 + PPK + DCT is a winning combo in my books. I have a dedicated track car (see signature) and swore I would leave this one alone strictly as a daily but the urge to push the car has been too tempting. I'll probably take it to 1-2 events next year but I'm confident the car will hold its own in it's current state or with few oem mods. Welcome again, you'll love the car. I refer to it as a modern version of thr ZHP.

If you're referring to me, I'll post my feedback after the next track day but that could be few months since I'm in the northeast lol.

I am not a big fan of AutoX. They chew up your tires. I prefer HPDE. I usually to events with the ACNA-NJ. I might do a PCA event in 2015. |

Car actually came out of CA. It was a BMW brass head car so I'm the first registered owner. It had 2,100 miles by the time I picked it up as it went back and forth to BMW dealer to have rear tail light assembly replaced after not functioning as it should. All good now. The LSD will be fun to research (and save for). Hopefully a summer ad! Passed a M235 on the ride home from the dealer and I thought that too is a great looking car but the lines of the 1 remind me of my old E30 M3, which is the only car I ever regret selling!

I've been told that BMWNA employees issued with company cars normally pre-order 4-5 cars at a time since they normally change every 2k miles.
