Definitely like the top ones! They're reminiscent of the cross-spoke BBS rims that BMW used to use. Bottom ones look sh!t IMO but may be lighter & easier to clean though.

8.5 fronts and 9 (or 9.5) rears. Offset at the front is about 28mm I was told because of my camber.

Simply put, I find their wheels to be too pricey for what they offer and don't really like any of their styles, which have been incredibly limited or not much to choose from, which is a bit dissapointing considering how long they've been in the game...I believe their B45 line from the '80's is still going

They seem to boost wheel choices by selling other brands along side their own and at much dearer prices than you can get them elsewhere

Anyway as a choice of the 2 styles you've pictured above, I'd go with the mesh, since a mesh style wheel seems to always go well with Beemers
To be quite frank I have never been a fan either. But this is my only way of getting a perfect fit. I need 2 set of wheels anyway, and once I work out the exact offset I need I will order a set of Forgeline from the US which is light and tough. I think of these as my trial wheels! I think I will go with the mesh like on the Cayman.

The reason I said I was keen on a spare rear wheel is because I curbed it the other day

It's not too bad, but it's damaged all the same, dammit

Ah I see. So you could spend $150 to fix it, or a bit more for a used one...

Uh huh.. so how much is "a bit more"? If you don't end up selling them as a set.

Just go to Advanced Alloys in Moorrabbin, you'll get it fixed, pretty flawlessly. They might be cocks, but their work is impressive.

Smarm, at $150-200 a wheel, it is hardly worth fixing!

I'm told the difference is like skoda vs. porsche.....

I haven't either mate, i was just curious what his thoughts were, i can never tell with him, he changes his mind so often.

Hey i think i saw you on the weekend Smarm, i think you were looking at what used to be a race car, trying to see if the driver was still with us, those are some sweet brown boots you had on, if it was you!:iono:

might be what you're referring to!

saving more lives!

as much as it looks like i'm trying to hug him, I keep an arm out and so does my colleague, because I've seen a few drivers collapse once the adrenaline leaves their system....

bring on bathurst!

Thinking either Toyo R888 or Dunlops. Need my chief crew Taka to help me out here. He is the pro at these.

I meant that is the price to get it fixed!

Another place that does really good wheel fixing is wheel solutions run by ex-Carrera Cup driver Matt Coleman. It's at the side/back of where Ferrari showroom is. Tell him Wayne sent you there and he will look after you.

The latter mate. Unless you are going for a super wet track. What are the sizes again? Call Stuckey for D03G Dunlop. Seems to be all Dunlop comes from there.

Traction tyre for Yoko but they are controlled tyres for a reason (to "control" you).... Superhard compound but talking to a lot of people using them they are good for your 1st track day only. Some even said the first session only :iono:. Happy with my sub 2 minutes at PI on them (I only have 120kW atw).

Toyo is good and last VERY LONG. Ultimate grip may not be there though. Great on the wet. If you want, I also know the best shop at Essendon.

I follow what is used in Japan by the tuners over there... but I become an so-called "expert" by driven all the above plus Bridgestone RE55S, which is also a great tyre.

Since you cannot rotate your tyre anyway, y not Bridgestone... again. I know the possibly the cheapest shop to get them. (not too confident on them).

.....

Final word: Remember I had a racer next door before? Not to mention name but he holds the records of Open 2 time at Calder and Winton. He only tried Bridgestone and Dunlop and he shared the view of mine.

Having said that... when I have money . I will have a go to turn a GT3 into a track car and have a go on those record. Particularly, the 1"33 at Winton. I prob not toooo far off when I have my RX-8 tubro and preped.

Is that where he is hiding nowadays... is he still lives with mum? or he moved out from Kew? I must go and see him - missed those ONeill days and I cannot even go to the next one.
