Can anybody confirm the Carbon M-Performance DCT shift knob will fit the 2011-2012 U.S. spec 135i DCT?

You should PM Dan at United and ask him. Someone needs to be brave and try it out on their car! When you are an 1Addict you must also be a pioneer.

The Carbon M Performance knob comes with the boot equipped and it only fits the F30 (2012+ 3 series sedan) __________________ Daniel Miles | United BMW Roswell | FaceBook | Twitter | Instagram @S54Dan Well this answer that question. |

Someone just needs to buy one and see. IF you really want one bad enough... get one!
BMW has not changed the shifter parts in a very long time. I seriously doubt that they have for the F30. But I do see that the F30 shift lever is only used in the F30 cars. shift lever #25117596025 ...the diameter of the lever should be the same... and the gap at the top of the lever for the knob to seat onto it(!) ...and hence this shift knob SHOULD(?) fit on another car model. But the shift boot will not fit. I am sure someone will make one of these "work" sooner or latter. It will just take someone who is determined. Dack

Once my car arrives I'll take the plunge and giv it a try. Will even see if I can try to transfer the alcantera boot to shift boot frame in our cars to make that snap in as well.

Does anyone have an update for this project?
I am definitely going to get this shifter, but I would rather only get the knob without the boot. Even for the F20, I doubt it will fit. Also it's $200+ for me with the boot included, if anyone has found just the knob please let me know.

No idea how to post them .. sent to my email via iphone but keeps saying its too big to upload every time i try.. IMO looks amazing.. Just make sure you use your STOCK shift boot or order the 135I performance boot.. With the performance boot its a tight fit but works .

If my girlfriend doesn't buy me the ZHP knob for my birthday then this might be what I order. The ZHP feels perfect, but this looks nice since I'm addicted to carbon fiber.
Still no way to order just the knob? |

Go into "advanced mode" and use the "paper clip" icon to attach your pics. Your file size is too large. Use a image resizing program to reduce your photo sizes. Make sure the file size is around 100mb to 400mb in size. Not, 1Megabites in size. Dackel

That is correct. I think the reason why is they actually glue the white retaining clip to the boot, making it 1 piece! I ended up popping off the new knob and Used the clip from my original boot. You have to pierce the knob through the retaining clip with the extra material of the boot between the holes. Otherwise the knob will just spin and feel sloppy .. After it's all said and done, looks completely oem and feels great..

If anyone wants to know what it looks like on a 1er. I just installed mine:
I ordered the part for the M235i but the boot is a write off since it doesn't fit. I thought about wrapping the new boot around the old frame, but it doesn't seem like there's enough material, so it has become a rather expensive shift knob.

^^Yup. Or as with some aftermarket shift knobs... using some silicone RTV up inside the knob, before installing it, will keep it from moving around. The reason why you use RTV(black or clear) is so you can remove the knob somewhere down the line.
