If you're really that keen on GM, you're welcome to my share of my "investment". I accept Paypal. |

Since you're already pissed off, I just wanted you to know I just cashed my $8000 first time homebuyers credit. If you want to be pissed off at someone, be pissed off at Wall Street who led us into the situation, and be pissed off at the government for not doing proper oversight. Have you pulled all your money out of the banks? Because those "loosers" have a hell of a lot more of your tax dollars (by a magnitude of about 1000) than GM EVER had. The government is going to PROFIT from the GM bailout, and if you bothered to be informed on the subject you'd realize that means saving them was a solid investment. |

Back on topic, the CTS V is pretty sick, but its deffinately in the M3 - M5 class. 556hp V8, etc. It's not really something to compare to the 135 or even M1 (as much as anyone would cross shop an M3 and an M1). I'm nto saying the m1 won't compete or even win, i'm saying it's not the same type car. I thought there was a smaller Cadi coming out soon that would be between the 1 and the 3. That will be interesting, especially if there is a V series. |

Yes, it was the prior gen. It was talked to be the M eater. But it was just a blood thirsty carnivore. It would be nice if they've given it a bit of poise.

BMW management must be p1ssing in their shorts. They are being attacked from all sides. For so many years no one else really cared so much about the 'sports sedan' category and left it all to BMW. Now it's up for grabs. Along with all other titles....

This is one of the reasons I'm always bitching at BMW. They used to ONLY do sports sedans, and they were the best in the business. Now they're trying to diversify, and they've lost the edge to a degree. |

http://articles.sfgate.com/2010-04-2...otors-chairman I'm out of this thread - did not mean to divert the discussion from the CTS -- which is a fine vehicle, by the way. But I simply wanted to make the point that I see no reason to do business with GM again. |

I'm sorry, but IMO (and obviously I'm one of few) that is about one of the worst looking vehicles I have ever seen in my life. I think only the Pontiac Aztec could trump it in terms of bad looks and no amount of performance/$ could save it.

CTS competes with 3 series (no 5 serioes though, Cadillac has another 5 series competitor). So V modification seems like M for me. My coworker owns CTS-V, but car is very bland, not stylish and prestigish as BMW. However Cadillac has a good reputation as reliable car, comfortable, with tons of features. So thanks OP for head up, I will add the car in my list.

The CTS-V coupe is absolutely gorgeous in my mind.
Oh, and people...let's leave the political soapboxing for other sites...it is just annoying to see everyone retreading well-worn territory.

CTS V performance?
At the track yesterday a guy had an older CTS-V (not sure of the year)....but he had to keep coming in as his old temps were going over 300 out for less than 15 minutes of basic DE driving (with an instructor). if this is any indication of the performace capability of this car in track conditions forget it. I know it has the vette motor but its a lot heavier and maybe not set up for track conditions.....and for $60K+ how does this compare to a 135?

Yep, and the engine in CTS-V seems to be taking to tuning pretty well, so there are going to be some real monsters out there once these coupes are on the lots. Here's a pully upgrade that takes it up to 630Hp. http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...orsepower.html Quote:
