Front and rear Turn Signal LEDs
@Qube: Thank you for the guide. I'd like to offer what I think is a correction to Front and Rear Turn Signal Bulbs. You show them as 1157 Base: BAU15D.
Having replaced mine with LEDs I can confirm that (for my model at least), these are 1156 Base: BAU15S. Yes, the pins are 150 degrees and not 180 degrees, i.e., not opposite each other. I can confirm that the brake lights have bayonets (pins) that are opposite each other.

Has anyone found a LED map light replacement that works, preferablyh 6000k? Every bulb I try will shut off after 5 - 10 seconds, and then might work again when it resets after a few minutes.

My Check Control warning for "R. Brake Light" bulb came on this morning. When I looked inside with the brakes on, it looked as if there were three bulbs not working compared to the Left side. I pulled the board with four bulbs out just to see inside and then found the socket outside that cluster in the hole in the body with a burned-out "1156" bulb. I never was able to locate access to the two other bulbs that were not lit.
I checked my spares and found several "7506" bulbs which had the same base and installed one which worked. Then I Googled "1156 vs 7506" and found sources saying they are different but can substitute for one another as long as they have the chrome base. Oddly, after replacing the one bulb, all three were working again and the warning-triangle gave up warning me. I'll get the correct 1156 bulb at work tomorrow but at least I no longer have to have my info screen blocked by the dreaded yellow triangle! Is there some series circuit which causes the seemingly inaccessible bulbs to go out with the 1156? |

Has anyone substituted W16W LED bulbs for the standard W16W bulbs? I'm not sure what is in my '13 128i with halogen headlights, but I wouldn't mind extra lighting on dark driveways when trying to back up.
Will using the LED versions cause issues with the 'bulb out warning' system? Thank you!

The high beams on my 2012 135i (with Xenon) are H8. This is also what RealOEM confirms they should be. For the 3 year old question from teaberry, that is an H3 bulb and to access it you remove a small rectangulare cover on the top.

Anyone ever change their D1S HID bulbs?
Looking to refresh my headlights, including the xenon bulbs. Did you go with Sylvania? Osram? Something different? Thx! |
