So in my case, you twist off the white plastic cap (clockwise), then twist the metal drive counterclockwise. In my case a spring came out. Turning the metal screw counterclockwise puts the car in neutral.

This was a lifesaver. Thank you. FYI a screwdriver may not even be necessary, I was able to pop off the trim around the dct lever with just my fingers.
Oh and my battery was stone cold dead, I think this is purely a mechanical thing. |

The transmission will shift into neutral with engine running. That's how to run it through the car wash. If you shut off engine but leave the remote control in the ignition, the transmission will remain in neutral.
Simple isn't it? |

If you put the car in neutral while it's own, turn the car off it should still be in neutral. Only time it will jump out of neutral and into park is if you turn the car off while in neutral, get out close the door behind you, and then try to open the door again it jumps back when you open the door to get back in.

I just asked my SA about this and he said the car can be put into N without starting, just power on without starting and shift to N is what he said. As my car has to be towed today to the dealer.
Edit-DK why he told me that, verified its not true unless you use the hex key and follow that process. Maybe its true on a Auto?

I have used dollies to put the car in the garage. Have screwed in the torx socket back from underneath the car.. Reconnected the battery and the neutral blinked for a few seconds and then it returned back to dollar green P I will be changing all the oils and atf and try to get the gearbox operating with working engine. If it wont work I ll definetely drop you the line regarding the allen socket... or possibly I will just crank that socket having it flying all over the vehicle

The red button is to reset it out of neutral and back into park. Here are a few photos to show you what mine looks like as well as position of the Allen key when I unlock. If you try to turn starting from closer to the driver then there isn't enough space to turn enough degrees to put it into neutral.
Pictures might be out of order since I'm posting from my phone. Edit*: I see the order of my pictures now. First picture is the car in neutral. Second picture is starting position of allen key. Last picture is what the area looks like without the cap, and my spring that flew out (cap is MIA). Last edited by dtla1; 06-07-2019 at 11:02 AM.. Reason: Can see order of pictures |
