I enjoyed the reviews on cars your considering. I too went through a dilema before buying my 128i stick, convertible. I got down to a 2006 vette, and the 128. When it was all over said and done with, I just couldnt get past all the cheap looking plastic that chevy puts in its cockpit. It really kind of broke my heart as I've always wanted a vette my whole life, and now that I can afford one and got serious about buying one - it just didnt turn out to be the car I thought it was. The 128i convertible was a real pleasant surprise. Nice rumble to the engine and pick up when you want it. Nice exterior lines. Awsome handling. And a simple yet highly sophisticated and classy interior. The convertible top is triple insulated and to me this car is quieter with the top up then my 07 civic Si coupe. Only thing I'm going to add to my 128i when I get a chance is the short shift kit bmw sells as an accessory to make the stick that much better.
Good luck on you car search. |

I've got a buddy in Florida who has been shopping around. He test drove the Hyundai Genesis coupe and liked it. Then he said the dealer is asking for a $4995 "new model" premium, so he's gonna keep looking.
128i is also on his list.

From that list? The Cam. Hands down. I had an opportunity to run with a (barely) pre-production version. They are great looking cars, big though, and heavy. The Z would be a close second, and certainly a lot more nimble.

That Camaro is great looking.. Mean looking..
Infiniti is adding Direct Injection in G37 coupe/Sedan next next... 340-350hp is the number floating around.. with slightly better fuel economy.. Z will get that engine as well.. The competition is getting fierce. |

Well I went with the CTS. It has it all, lots of room, luxury, great performance, and it's a great looking car. All the BMW dealers I went to would not deal and came across like they were better than everyone else? My CTS is a great all around car.

cts-v ? Or the normal one
either way that's a strange jump from sporty coupes to a big 4 door sedan

New to the forums, all. Just here to say that I test drove a 135 coupe and it is compromising where it should be and not at all where you don't want it to be. I want one soooo bad. If i see one of you guys that are lucky enough to drive a 1er, I might hit you over the head and take your car (j/k obviously). If everything goes well, mine will be in production 7/2010

since you're posting on a 1addicts forum, I can tell you that most will say 128i.
I can help you with your delimma though. Don't buy american, don't buy korean. so that leaves you with 128i and 370z 370z will cost more for insurance due to it only has 2 seats. so if you need 4 seats, get a 128i. if you can get over the ugly lights on the 370z, get a 370z. or Straight 6 > V6

German or Japanese would be the only cars I'd buy, perhaps Italian one day =) All the headlines claiming GM is preparing for bankruptcy doesn't help either! |

I'm really not sure what you're bitching about with the interior. You guys can try to blast GM all you want on the interior, but this is simply the fastest new car you can buy for $32k. It's not like BMW interiors are out of this world. The design on the Camaro fits the retro image of the car, and at least GM saw fit to include more than an oil temp gauge on the performance models. I'm betting it's probably got a real dipstick as well. |

I think the interior actually looks decent... from far away. I find that's usually the case with american cars. Once I actually get in one (when I rent them or a friend's) it looks so toy-like and tacky. Besides that... I don't like blue gauges. It really kills your night-adjusted vision for night driving.
