RWD cars with lots of power will usually come with wider rears for added traction. |

I think you guys are crazy to consider a square set up on this car when you don't know how much understeer is dialed into the set up from the factory. Everything we have read have indicated that this car is already very twitchy in the rear, so reducing the difference in width to the rear tyre will just make it even more twitchy. To each their own, but I am going to wait and see before committing to a set up.

I plan to run 265/35-18 like I did on my e46 M3. I like a square setup so I can rotate. I would worry about going to winter widths i.e. 235. You are obviously not carrying track speeds in Buffalo winters unless you have a death wish.
I sure hope my track wheels fit over the brakes. I have been dealing with Jim at Tirerack since my 1997 M3 days and plan to call him. 265 is a nice size. It is more reasonable, available and plenty wide. Has anyone used the Toyos or the Dunlops? I am used to the Kuhmo v700s and like a really stiff sidewall. I presently have Re11s for street and have often used Pzeros. At one time in the 90s I had Pzero Corsas but they are not legal for stock in SCCA Solo. They were great. I started in BFG r1 in the early 90s and loved they way they talked to you at the limit. |

Is there a conclusion there? I'm getting mine next week and would like track tires but can't choose what rims/tires to fit on?
