First time I have ever heard this. Everything I've read indicates the 1M is lighter due to the lighter (M3)suspension components, the sunroof delete, etc...
BMW NA Specs: 3373lbs Unladen = 135i 3362lbs Unladen = 1M Besides, you are referring to curb weight which may or may not include the same options, fuel, cargo etc.

I am sure your numbers are correct. The unladen specs I quoted are also from BMWUSA.com I am just saying different countries measure the kerb weight with different cargo, gas, passenger etc. Unladen is an apples to apples comparison because both cars have no cargo/passengers included in the figure. Just car vs. car. Just look at the different payload figures in your chart. It's higher in the 135 and the overall weight is still higher. It's just not an equal comparison, that's all.

I´ve got lightweight doors for the e82 with 4kg / each door inclusvie makrolon windows
That are about 50kg less than original added with the carbon bonnet and the hood again minus +/-30kg so why are you thinking about throwing away the musicmachine |

Cool thread. The weight reducing 135 guys fizzled out, hopefully this one will keep going.
Yep, removing the backseat if you don't use it is the best bang for your buck mod. The bottom cushion is very light but the hinged back piece is 50+ lbs. The stock exhaust mufflers are heavy, removing those if you don't mind a louder exhaust makes since. I'm waiting to get another year or two outta my stock battery and then going lighter. My car still weighed 3500lb when corner balanced including 3/4 tank and my spare tire donut, jack, and some tools. I'm now around 52/48 front to rear.

What about the weight difference between a powered seat and a powered seat with Heat option?

Based on the information disclosed in this thread the estimated weight of the ATS rims in the list is as follows:
Of course the rear rims should be heavier than the front rims since they are bigger but I'm using different sources of information - the list and this: Front & Rear: Nevertheless, around 9,5kg is a good estimate for the ATS rims! |

There's nothing like the real thing:
The OEM 19x9” (245/35/19), 11,8kg, front and 19x10” (265/35/19), 12,2kg, rear can be replaced by the ATS SUPERLIGHT forged alloy wheel 8.5 x 19" for the front - weighs only 8.5kg and the 10.0 x 19" wheel for the rear axle - weighs only 8.8kg . So, the ATS SUPERLIGHT rims, front and rear, are actually lighter than the estimated 9,5kg. The recommended retail price of the 8.5 x 19" ATS SUPERLIGHT for the BMW is €1,200. The 10 x 19" model is €1,300. Both prices include VAT. |

Anyone know if the BMW performance wheel style 313 weigh less than the OEM 1M wheels?
BMW is writing as extremely light weight wheels. |

This thread is worth a bump; i am thinking about stripping my incoming 1M and am wondering how much weight i can shave just by taking out various parts, such as backseats, sound padding etc.
