exactly, if on oem wheels and tires the overall diameter for front and rear is 24.75 inches, so technically it shouldnt matter which goes on which but due to different width and offset from front to rear, it may give the illusion of a smaller wheel if the front was put on the back

a 40 cross section of a 215mm tire is .4 x 215 = 86mm height a 35 cross section of a 245mm tire is .35 x 245 = 85.75mm height You think you'll see a sidewall height difference by eye on a stock tire set up? A .25mm difference? If the tires are stock, this question won't be answered by a picture from the side of the car. |

One thing is for sure: We're all now dying to know whether his tires are on the right wheels. (rofl)
He said he was going to check them at lunch, so he's probably down there looking at them right now.... (chuckle)

it sort of looks like they put a square set up on and didnt realize the rear to front are not swappable. To confirm this, can you take pics of how the wheel sits?
meaning the front should be almost poking out of the fenders, while the rear will be really sunken in. By putting the rear wheel in the front, it will poke out 10mm more than it normally should, while the rear will be sunken in by 10mm |

Optical illusions never cease to amaze me. Anyway it looks like they did your tires right. But you sure had everyone leaping for their rulers and garages.... :-)

optical illusion. your rear is in the shade and conceilling the black tires.
Take a pic in full light. then compare.

no need for pics buddy. if your rear tires are smaller in width in the rear than the front then for sure they flipped it. simple as that.

You don't, jzhang is incorrect.
The 128i has 205-50-17 on all four corners with the same 7" rim. Last edited by ScarecrowBoat; 08-25-2011 at 04:01 PM.. Reason: I meant same 7" rim, not 8". |

ncbmw is good at admitting fault for things like this, should be hassle-free. just talk to the manager in charge too so someone takes responsibility for this mess.
