Darn, Someone has it already! lol.. Always one step behind.. Looks great, at least I know what to expect. With a few more Mods it will have a different look.

Absoloutley right Dave, the cost for the Matte was around 2000 Euro. with the little extra trimings it will be slightly more.

Just a curious question..
as its a wrap, it has no texture (At least i think it doesnt) although the new materials may in fact have something. Its frozen grey in color but will have a smooth finish, yet "dull" as in flat.. so the question is do you just wipe it clean??? what happens with bird droppings... how does one care for it. (im well aware of the warnings BMW gave for the real Frozen grey paint jobs, so im just asking about wrapped cars ) ????

but it does offer the car a level of protection. that's what i'm getting at. if you're really pissed that BMW didn't offer it in any other colors (other than AW/BSM and VO), than this can be done as an alternative and it will still offer a level of protection to the paint. that's all i was saying. again...would i do it...no. |

Wrapping a car they use vinyl same stuff they make decals out of but they are covering the whole surface of a car. It is very hard to do espically around curves, ducts, edges, ETC. So many shops who professional do this will charge quite a bit. The labor will be roughly 40hrs. and the materials given that they dont mess up at cost would be roughly 500-800USD depending on what brand vinyl they went with ETC.
A guy locally wrapped his subby. Took 40Hrs and they actually pulled off all the pannels of the car wrapped it and reinstalled the pannels. this allows you to pull the vinyl off at a later date and still have your paint unharm and untouch. given that they dont use any epoxy or glue to hold down the edges. Also when they are triming the vinyl with a razor or xacto knife(same difference) hopefully they didnt catch the paint that you wont know until you go and pull off the vinyl. I helped wrapped a car for SEMA and it is the biggest pain in the ass to do. Cant wait for the pictures I'm always a fan of nice wrapped cars. |
