It won't be cheap, but will be less than my M3. I would guess $1500 - $2000 safe area over 40 drivers. |

It's going to be a lot more than 2k for me! I will just bundle it up with the company insurance policy, should be a significant saving!

Mine's $500 with AAMI. Age, minimal kms, garage & good driving record must help.

No logic to it however.
My scenario 3 year old M3 Resides in a garage in the suburbs of Canberra No accident or infringement history Ins Value $~130k No drivers under 45 AAMI - $2600 There's no way the 1M for me will be less than ~$1800 |

If you don't mind a no frills product, pm me. Never claimed before so don't know what they are like but I know people who have and they are great.

Why not up the excess? I mean, really, are you going to claim insurance for anything less than $1k and have your premium go up in the next 3 years? All my insurance has $1500 excess as I know I can't be f'ed claiming if it is a small amount anyway. |

I ended up (Friday) getting a BMW Insurance policy, under written by Allianz, for just under $2200 with an agreed value of $122k and a $1500 excess. Still exy IMO.

Yeah that is expensive. I think mine was $1700 or so, insured at our suburban address as opposed to the two city addresses. Try CGU next time. I know for Porsches they are like half what Porsche insurance wanted to charge me. Never tried it with any other cars though.

Just received this from Akrapovic re the exhaust on the MotoGP Pace Car.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good Morning John, Hi John we are now developing for the production car - there will be a full evolution and slip-on options. If you want I can keep you posted on whats happening and when it happens. Australia will definitely be one of the first to get the systems from Akrapovic. I agree it often makes no sense to us! You can bet the insurance company has this well documented in their business logic. The levers are well understood:
+ Garaged post code (their assessment of various risks based on reported crime/claims in that post code) + Your age and gender + Your driving record + The type and age of vehicle + If you have finance on the vehicle or own it outright (ie co you have the power of a finance company's legal department behind you) + Your planned usage of the vehicle + Other drivers of the vehicle + Your excess/premium decision I've had the same car with all the same parameters quoted for garaging at post codes in Auburn, lower north shore and a rural address. The difference in premium is staggering! You can also own a model of car that the insurer deems to be "risky" and the premium is priced to that end.

Hi All,
I haven't read all the posts but i know Akrapovic are making one for the 1M. The one on the MotoGP car is not a production piece. I have ordered the very first production unit for the 1M and as soon as i have more details i will be sure to let you know. |
