He works for his boss. Not sure that he is robotic. His name isn't on the side of the building (Service Writer Motors).
I based my acceptance of the pricing from here (1addicts) and others in the biz I know. Diff & trans are a pain & expensive fluids, as noted here. The dealership gets my biz and wasn't too bad. I knocked $203 off the plugs and $200 off the carbon blast if needed. Did I mention free/warranty turbos? Everyone gets a pound of flesh. Is it perfect? No, but I can live with it.

Epilog to my repairs. Turbos covered by emissions. Two turbos at $818 each plus assorted parts. The tech wrote that the waste gates were seized.
Intake pix before the blast (they didn't get after). Plugs were $303, Trans fluid was $228, diff was $268, brake fluid was $149. Carbon blast (and inspection was $698. They applied a "loyalty discount" of $247 to the total bill. On my credit card was $1,443, soup to nuts. Not perfect, but they've gone to bat for me with my now ex-335d and shaved money off other bills. They apologized for not having pix post carbon blast.

Almost 69,000. In the past two years I've done about 5,000 miles per year. The first few years I put on lots of miles.
