Ok a loaded 135i wont be the price of a 335i, because then people would just say screw the 1er and go for the 328i...1 Series sales would be killed...I say 36,000 for a loaded 135i

Just what was said before, a base 335i cost $41,000 plus with transport cost(just saw one at dealer). That is a basic model. A highly equipped 135i is lets say $39,900. The 335i with the same equipment as the 135i, costs $46,900. You make the choice will the same person say forget it and buy the 335i, and spend $5,000. more for basically the same equipped BMW?????? Well lets see, I can get a well equipped 135i for $39,900, same engine, better brake system, same transmission, slightly smaller , less weight, as fast or faster 0-62 times, or pay $46,900 for a 335i with same equipment as 135i . No brainer for me !!!!!!!!!!!! Don't know about anyone else??????? Remember you need to compare like equipped cars, not a base model price against a very well equipment model price.

Nope. The 335i includes numerous other standard features that the 135i certainly wont. A Logic7 sound system is standard, power memory seats are standard, automatic headlights and automatic windshield wipers, etc. As I have said numerous times before, the base equipment on a 135i should not increase the price of the car as much because the production costs are lower due to BMW only needing to produce one spec.

The 3 series is more luxery, and IMO better looking and has bigger cabin space. I"m sure a fair number of people will be in between these two cars. But the majority of people looking for more performance will go for the 135i and people who value creature comfort/and room will go for 335i. So i think most people looking for a fully loaded 135i would not spend another 5k for a bigger car cause they are more performance oriented, and vice versa for the 335i.

Talking about Common Sense ...
Volvo C30's MSRP is $22,700 , premium is $25,700 and it's has 227 bhp turbo-charged 5cy
227 bhp = $ 22,700 ... so 300 bhp = ? it's pure math... $30,000 exactly ... for premium... it could well reach to $33k... can we relatively think that... 300 bhp could be priced approximately $30k... fully loaded opt...could be close to $34k / $35k ? And VW EoS 3.2 which would be comparable to up-comming 1er cabrio in terms of design... is msrp'ed $ 36k ... it is 250 bhp tho... and From the East Side of World... Toyota Camry Solara Coupe is priced... $22k... 3.3 V6 is about $30k ... Honda Accord Coupe is priced $22k... 3.4 V6 is about $28k ... So if BemV... i mean bimmer...in american term, price the same level as competitors... We will have the good advantage of N54 ... i feel like...in this forum...some people from dealership guys...dont wanna look belittle on the price... but enthusiasts like everyone else... still value the ultimate machine...with the pride of ownership...at favorable and competitive price... |

I cant believe many of you think that a fully loaded 135i will be 40,000! Maybe and only maybe with tax and fees included then yes but BMW should be ashamed of themselves to price the 135i that high. I would simply spend the money and get a base 335i.
In my opinion the point of the 1-series is to attract a crowd willing to spend under 40K (33-37) for a great car. To approach 40K with this car wouldn't be the right move. just my 2 cents edit: oh and if the car does end up being 40K+, then the money i have already put down will go towards my new 335i |

^ x2, weighing only 200lbs more with more room and better road preasance? No brainer, though a 335i loaded like I would want would almost MSRP at $50,000. Plus, I'd wait for the facelifted sedan......`09? I dont recall, but I'd be supprised if its `08...
I'm hoping for $36k loaded the way I'd want (premium, cold weather, nav, 6-speed)...

^ It wouldnt dissappoint me if its closer to $40k loaded, I'll just wait on the facelifed 335i sedan. I was going to wait for the release hype to fade before purchasing a 135i anyway, so that puts me at about June, whats a couple more months wait so I can order a facelifted `09 335i?
My dream would be for them to offer some sort of M-Technique or ZHP package for the face-lifted 335i Sedan. Then I might be able to get Imola Red...

But seriously, I expect at least $27k for a 128i and $33k for a 135i. I still haven't decided which one I'm going to get. I currently own a MINI Cooper so the 128 will be plenty fast but what will the suspension be like on the 128 in relation to the 135? I won't know for sure until I drive them both. Other than the suspension, most of the standard options will be sufficient for me so I don't expect to add too much to the base price. |

+1 FYI, if you are going to wait until June '08 to attempt to purchase a 135i then you might as well just wait for the '09 MY to begin in Sept. Of course, this only applies if BMW NA introduces the 1-Series Coupe as a 2008. I suspect that if the launch is held at the end of March or the first of April then there is a good chance the US 1-Series coupe will be a '09 MY. |

^ good point, I think its suppose to be intro'd as an `08 due to that 40 years since they intro'd the 2002 or something like that...
Then again, by the time the hype wears off and the cut-off to order a 2008 approaches, dealers might be more willing to, well, deal, haha. A benefit to not receiving a 2008 model car until the end of 2008 would be that the car would apprear to be low mileage for its "age". It would help out in the long run if you put a lot of miles on a car. Howver, the downfall is that even if you didnt take delivery until December of 2008, in January of 2009, it'll be "1 year old." But yes, good point, and thanks, thats definatly something to keep in mind. That and the fact that the longer I wait, the more financially stable and able I'll be...

Lets say that the intro (demos) is held near the end of March 2008 with customer sold units arriving during the first week of April. That only leaves 5 months of 2008 production since the next model year begins in Sept. Also the '08 1ers will deprecation very rapid because of this ('09 MY). |
