Hey guys first post, tried to order a 135is today and dealer said they are no longer taking orders.
Instead getting a lemans blue/oyster leather with DCT, premium and tech, heated seats, harmon kardon, and rear park sensors from another dealer. I had wanted lemans/coral and a few less options but this is pretty close and they knocked a few grand off sticker and I qualify for the college grad discount. Is everyone really thinking that they only made 2-300 135is's? Pretty rare car if so... |

You might want to try seeing if another dealer has an allocation perhaps as I had to go to 3 dealers before I found one with an open spot - if you're intent on getting a 135is.
As far as numbers goes on the 135is, hard to tell, but if they are only selling like 200 1-series a month total, it's only available in the US, and only has a limited production run of just under a year, hard to tell how many there are. Only 2 are available for sale in southern california that I found and they've been sitting there for like 4 months. Another dealership in Northern California has had the same 5 IS guys seemingly since December, so it's a weird one that there 135is. Lemans with Coral will look like a superman car! That's bold...and needless to say, you'd have to order that. Quote:

LeMans and Coral is indeed very bold. To each his own...
I personally like LeMans with Oyster--that's what I recently ordered, and am patiently waiting for. Where did you find the car you are getting, at Ft. Myers or Germain? |

I''m going with lemans/oyster. They are pulling the car from another dealer in FL that has the car in stock. Went to Ft. Myers BMW. Going to swing by Germain in Naples this week to see if they can beat the deal.

When I asked the sales guy how may 135is were sold, he did not have a solid number, but he did use the logic that his dealership sold two 1-series Ms, and they sold 4 135is coupes, so one possible completely speculative guess is (700/2)*4 = 1400 135is coupes.

I don't like those numbers.
The only 135is's I'll count are ones accounted for on here. =P But if BMW is only selling just over 200 1-series coupes total per month and I think the 135is came out last september maybe? maybe a lil before then, that math doesn't work. They'd have to be selling 100 135is cars per month, which there is no way. I think it'd be hard pressed to even guess 20 or 30 per month nationwide, which still would leave you with around 240-360 if it even ends up being made for an entire 12 months. But who knows. |

Looking at the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics track and trace site it looks like about 600 135i coups have shipped to North America since the end of May 2012, which is pretty close to when the 135is started shipping. My guess is the number of 135is cars in the states is going to be a pretty small number.

Not sure if you can believe the dealer or not but he said there were 25 in inventory throughout the entire US and likely 5-10 are likely sold and not updated in the system.

That sounds right to me, and half seem to be convertibles, too.
I didn't mess want to mess around so I ordered 3 months before I should have based on my previous car's lease ending, but didn't want to risk it or run into short productions. There are also a few low mileage CPO 135is cars floating around out there - saw 4 as of Friday, which was a vermillion red/taupe coupe with 755 miles, lemans on black coupe with 3,000 miles, and then a couple of convertibles. |

I can account for at least 4 of those as well - mine + the other 2 on the forum on my boat, plus the convertible that arrived at my dealer a couple weeks before mine.
Getting excited for yours? |

I bought mine from Pleasanton CA in April 2013 and the SA said at the time that mine was one of 23 in the US. Five people tried to buy it while I was signing my papers...

Hi Greg
The excitement is building, I got into setting up a spread sheet with the Port Huenme deliveries to check the time frame from when the cars are delivered to the port to when they are released for delivery to the dealer. Like you said before I should figure on another 2 weeks before I get my car. So to kill time I started checking the vin numbers on these cars to note which have the P7FMA sport edition code that indicates the is version. I am hoping this keeps me distracted from jonesing to bad for my new ride. |

Don't be looking at the options on mine though on your vin decoder!
What's funny is I used the vin decoder on my own car as we were trying to determine what IS parts were put on at the port, though we now have concrete evidence (with pictures), and also to check to see if indeed I took advantage of that weird loophole on the bmw configurator where it was showing comfort access as a no cost option on the 135is. And indeed, I then knew it was! Take THAT premium package! Next we'll ask you what the convertible to coupe ratio is. Was interesting because when me and Kouper compared VIN numbers since ours were made the same day, the vins are completely different, I guess cause his is a convertible. |

It'll end once you get it, so just a matter of time. Then you will find new things to obsess over, like hitting the gas to hear that exhaust.

your convertible comment made me realize I completely over looked those in my figuring. So that adds another 513 cars to the 600 coupes for a total of about 1,153 cars delivered to north America since last July. So maybe we are looking at about 600 135is cars? So I have to go edit my Faust Tread |

Come on...we don't need to really count the 135is convertibles. They don't even have the lip spoiler and so shouldn't even count. And I'll hope Kouper doesn't see this. O=|
