hey everyone, my 1er make a few autox appearances this season. i drove it at the last event of the season i attended. it was alot more fun than 2 years ago. I can only attribute the difference to the M3 parts up front, that was the only change i made from 2 seasons ago. Yeah, that event really screwed up my off season upgrade plans. Miata upgrades are minimal now and for the 1er:
Looks like i'll be getting new wheels and fatty tires and maybe some stiffer springs. Probably won't go to full coilovers this season, but something just a little stiffer, eibach or h&r. only 2 months before season starts!

I'm not sure about the bushings. BMW quoted me 4.5 hours at $130/hr. Turner quoted me 8 hours @ $100/hr. Maybe a nice friend could help?! |

Rumor has it, having the sfb's installed while also having your coilovers installed, will save you time and $.
i don't have much patience for taking cars apart for 6+ hours; sometimes the $ people charge is quite worth it :-)

Nice purchases! Wondering why you asked me about my spring compressors. you shouldn't need to take apart or compress the front struts, given the larryn method.

I've had a set of Volk G2's sitting in my garage since last fall. I need to get them refinished and get some new rubber. I can't wait. Also trying to decide what suspension I want to go with. Debating between just going BMW performance or KW v2.

Yeah, that's the question. I want to track it, but I also kind of doubt I'll actually get out. So do I go for a more mild daily driver setup, or the more hard core potential track setup. Each has their pros and cons I guess.

well the adjustability should help somewhat with the ride quality. i think V2s let you adjust height and compression, but not rebound, right? my buddy had V3s on his Z4M and she rode great around town. as smooth as stock? no, but pretty damn good
something tells me dropping 2 grand on a nice new suspension would help motivate you to get your ass out and put it to use

larry,
what's your opinion of replacing stock springs with eibachs? that was your setup for a while, was it better for autox? i liked the height/look of your car with the eibachs and arc8s. new arc8s arriving this week, big fat sticky rubber too. should be a fun year of autox with 2 differnt cars and some track time in the miata.
