Installed my new Arc-8s yesterday. Stock suspension and setup with no mods whatsoever to fenders, camber, etc. No rubbing yet and everything seems to clear just fine so I don't expect to get any.
Front: 18x8.5 ET45 Anthracite with Hankook Ventus V12 235/40/18 Rear: 18x9.5 ET62 Anthracite with Hankook Ventus V12 265/35/18 Thanks, Eddy! |

Anyone have 235/265 Advan AD08's on these wheels with stock suspension? Any rub?

by the way, rotate the quick release on the front axle of the bike in the background so it's not facing forward. |

My setup with PSS , 235/40 Front strut rub.
My setup with Pilot Super Sports , 235/40 R18 - Front strut ;
With BMW Performance suspension and factory spec'd front camber of -0.5 degrees - Less than 1/32nd inch clearance - and contact when parked facing downhill (to get a feel for how things look under braking). Not quite full lock either since I'm taking these solo. Its too tight in my factory friendly setup So - sadly - the 235's have to get swapped out for 225's - Which stance wise is a bit better for the car overall (slightly lower in front vs rear) Could not be happier with the look overall - rears are great - Will post full pics tomorrow when we get the replacement front rubber on.

Mine's extremely close, but doesn't touch. you should just use a thin spacer in the front. 3mm would do it.

Baby's got a new pair of shoes.
Thanks for the thought guys - I looked at the spacer and IMHO it pushed things out a little too aggressively for my look on the car.
Swapped out 235 for 225's on the front - Four reasons overall 1) 235 on my setup (Perf Suspension, -0.5 camber) either rub or are just too close for comfort. 2) As stated - Spacer would have probably worked - but made front too aggressive (for me) 3) Ride height - the 235's when you do the math raise the front a fraction over the rears (something like a 1/4 inch) - the 225's sit the front down a fraction. 4) Tire guy's recommendation (who is in an AC 5 series) - The 235's are very flat on the ARC's and in his opinion the sidewalls can flex in under cornering - He prefers the 225's with give a slight stretch and hence rounding and better performance under turn in. All opinions mine and his - Your mileage and setups will probably vary End result - My setups 225/40/R18 on front, 265/25/R18 on rears on Hyper Black ARC-8's Ride is superb and for a more or less 'factory fit' this would be my recommendation.

Ha! Good eye. I actually don't ride with it like that. This was just the way it wound up after putting the front tire back on after taking it down off my bike rack.

My setup is extremely close as well, but doesn't touch either. I'm going to be removing and inspecting the tires this weekend to be sure. I might end up going with a 3mm spacer in front if I notice any rubbing. Is there a spacer that you recommend?

edit: i assume it goes without saying that you should select a spacer with the correct chamfer to make them properly hubcentric. i've never seen one on the market that wasn't chamfered, but i'm sure they exist. h&r, macht schnell, and probably 100 other brands make spacers for this car that im sure would all be fine. don't forget extended bolts too. technically, the 235s are less than 1/10th of an inch taller than the 265s, which results in less than 1/20th of an inch in increased ride height. based on the proximity of the rollouts of the two sizes (differing by only 0.37%), i'd guess that they're a LOT less than 1/20th inch apart in height... this is probably just a rounding difference. for all intents and purposes, they're the same diameter.

No fender modifications. Check sig for other info. My fronts are very... very close to the strut. Pretty scary, but it's been alright so far. It looks EXACTY like gadget12345's picture in the previous posts. Is this normal? No alignment pin mod or anything. I only rub slightly in the fronts on unexpectedly large dips when I'm going at a good speed. Also at full lock, I hear a scraping type of noise... havn't taken the time to figure out what it is yet. Will need to find a second person to drive around in circles at full lock while I inspect!

I haven't had a chance to really push them yet but I've done some spirited driving on the street and they seem to hold pretty well. I've been very happy with them so far. You might want to see what some of the other guys have to say that have tracked these as they'll probably have some better info for you.
