M-Sport is purely cosmetic and is nearly the same as Sport. No higher limiter than sport. No difference in steering wheel than sport. Main differences are: Anthracite headliner (already on 'vert), style 261M wheels, and ///M door ceils. +$200 over regular Sport.
Any paint job can get M-Sport, but only M-Sports can get LaManz Blue. There's an official BMW announcement posted on one of the threads. Search for "LaManz Blue" or "M-Sport". |

No they aren't. The space between the spokes is easy to get in between unlike other patterns I've seen.

That is a weird bit. When the M option first came out, they had the "Speed Delimiter" raised from the standard 155mph to 170mph. Now when you look, they don't.
But then, does it reeeeeally matter? I doubt I am going to go 155mph anywhere near me. You need to be out west in the desert area where you can see the cop coming for miles away before you can tag that.

I think it compliments the black interior quite well actually. I prefer dark interiors though.

Yeah, I've heard that some people have done it. Maybe someday if I feel like burning a chunk of change.

Go with Sport
You'll most likely get Breyton GTS-R's so the wheels won't matter, then you'll get a SSK so the M shifter doesn't matter, you can add the foot rest yourself for $10 bucks, the M door sills are no biggie and I myself don't think the headliner is such a big deal. If you don't plan on going with Le Mans Blue, then I recommend going with the sport and using the extra $200 towards the changes you'll make anyways. It would've been nice for BMW to have the blue and red stitching on the leather for Msport equiped - that would've been worth it.

Yeah - I'm not too concerned about going faster than 155mph either. In California they'll take your 1er away and slam the bars shut. |

I have the M-Sport with black leatherette. I love the interior, I can't imagine anything else, I think the black headliner looks really clean with the black interior. As far as the wheels, they look 100 times better in person, you will love them after you get them. I wasn't too sure about them when I ordered it, but I love them now and am so happy I got them. Here are some pictures, i have two with a flash and two without. I had to use imageshack because for some reason I couldn't upload attachments.

The headliner is nice, and the wheels are cool too. Still, I like the straight 5 spokes though. You guys mentioned terra interior. I like that interior in the 3. I wish they still had it because it would look sweet in a crimson red 135i. I really want crimson red, and I really like colored seats. The red leather looks great. But, I think red on red would be too much. I do think that space gray and red would look very sharp too. What color is the standard headliner then? Is it gray? |

Go M-Sport just for that headliner. When I test drove a 135i it was a coupe. I loved it, and I was seriously considering it over the vert. But then I saw that you could not get a black headliner on it...that was the final thing that pushed me into the vert.
RPM90. I have a set of slightly scuffed up 264s. When you get your M-Sport car do you want to trade? I think that solves both of your issues. |

Yes - but not for $200. The headliner is $1,200 and the 261 wheels will be about $1,500 - throw in the M-door sills and you are around $3,000 out of pocket. You can sell the original wheels and perhaps the used headliner for a few hundred. That is why the M-Sport for $200 more is such a no brainer.

So, that makes a crimson red and terra interior a top choice right now. Much appreciated info. BTW, in case my dealer is not on the ball, all I need to tell him is to check "priority 1 options"? |
