They have not tried it on a vert yet, I checked with my BMW SA and the coupe and vert share the same system, but clearance might be the issue. The HPF kit comes with spacers to make more room around the brace. So I can't say yes for sure.

I'd be interested, but I would want an exterior sound clip / video of the resonated version.
I'm also wondering how much louder it would be over a stock exhaust with CP-E catless/resonator less midpipes? I get popping / backfiring when the tires break loose and the car cuts power (Not talking downshift gurgling...love that part) and it bothers me... HPF, can we get a new exterior cam video of the 135i resonated exhaust? From absolute cold startup to driving around...thx! |

The exhaust is being made so the prototype is not in HPF hands to make a video, but the 335i system may be done earlier. You can get a good idea from all the you tube videos, but still any video is off.

They are taking you seriously, It's just that there is only 1 produced exhaust system at this time, They will try to find a local first and if not I'm sure they will let you test it out for them.

What is the biggest issue with clearance for the exhaust for the 'vert as compared to the coupe? Is it because of the 'vert motor thats located in the trunk... is it a bigger compartment then the normal spare tire of a coupe?

Its because of the extra rear suspension bracing. It can get in the way and cause clunking noises.

I'm tempted to say I'm in, but want an exterior video of either a 135 or 335 driving around...with lots of throttle action!

Hey Guys! Sorry I havent been in here as much as I would like. We actually have the exhaust with the manufacturer right now so I wont be able to get any new video until we get it back in about 30 days. Tim does have alot of pretty good videos right now. As far as the vert goes, I will do some research and see what some other manufacturers list for it. If it was a Quad Tip Dual Exit exhaust I might be a little worried but it is only single exit. We are having a Dyno Day here on the 22nd of this month so im hoping someone will show up with a 135 Vert so we can take a peak at it. Also if BrokenVert can PM me with your VIN number I can do some digging for you. Let me know if you guys have any questions I can help out with.
