People that merge onto the interstate and then immediately zoom across 3 lanes of traffic to get to the left lane when the other lanes of traffic were already open anyway…

the left lane hogs. I will tailgate them hard until they move. i dont give a shit when im in my civic. now if im in the m3 or 911, i stay back and wait or pass on the right. tailgating = rock chips
truckers staying side by side and not letting anyone pass. honestly can't wait for elons self-driving semi trucks. they will follow the rules and actually do the speed limit uphill. people like my gf who constantly speed up and slow down with traffic up ahead. we aren't getting there any faster and you're wasting gas by constantly being on and off the throttle. just wait it out, find an opening, and make a move.

That's arguable, when a zipper merge has been proven to reduce congestion
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...ts/1748026001/ There is 2 sides to every coin, not everyone running up to the lane closure to merge is trying to be a dbag. I can add those drivers who feel that they always have the right of way when someone's only trying to merge be it from a ramp or a closure ahead, and intentionally speed up to prevent that from happening. I can relate to most of the things already mentioned.
The one thing that drives me crazy is when people speed through a parking lot in a plaza cutting through every empty parking spot instead of driving in the aisle or outer roads. I also partially blame people that design these parking lots. I have seen so many strange designs that leaves me wondering if the person who came up with the layout has ever driven a car. |

Around here.... basically people who drive that are not me. They are all idiots. Every single thing they do is idiotic.
When I'm pulling the RV I'm much more chill, but my biggest issue then is fucking assholes who are merging onto the highway who apparently don't realize they are in a tiny fucking car that can EASILY get ahead of me or behind me. Apparently they see a big ass truck and trailer and think hmmmmmm.... maybe I should ride right beside this big ol sob until I run out of road and then freak the fuck! |

Anyone who is overly aggressive and impatient on the road to other road users.
That includes people who tailgate, road rage people, people who aggressively honk those who duck and weave through traffic. It's like people forget they are operating fast dangerous machinery that can kill. Just chill, relax, enjoy life. Much of the job of being a safe driver is driving for other people (watching out for bad driving) and avoiding it. Driving into work this morning someone in a CLA45 just started drifting into my lane. No indictor nothing. He obviously had not checked his blind spot, so I slowed down and let him in. All the major pet peeves have been said and they all drive me crazy.
I've caught people driving erratically on the highway only to find them texting! I honk at them because they almost hit me in the side of my car and they then flip ME off! They were the ones texting, driving erratically and almost caused an accident. F-them!

I have a 3 ton truck pulling a 4 ton camping trailer. Some people have no idea what 7 tons of weight at 65MPH will do to them. My stopping distance isn't exactly brisk. It's like getting hit with 5 cars at the same time. |

I've read all the pet peeve responses so far on this thread. Back in the day, each and every one of these was a pet peeve of mine too. After being in an accident (other driver's fault) that experts say my wife and I should not have survived, I've taken a different approach and attitude about driving. The kid that almost killed us was 18, impatient, speeding, tailgating, and weaving in and out of traffic just to move up a spot when there was clearly no where to go since there was no space in front to take off. He was simply being an 18-year-old ass hat.
I used to be that kid. I used to get pissed when the guy in front of me was not keeping up with the guy in front of him or pull out of the fast lane. I used to tailgate to get them to move over. After a near-death experience, I've drastically changed my attitude and driving style. Why? I don't want to be that kid that caused an accident that ends in tragedy. What do I do differently? I leave early so I'm not in a rush. I expect idiot drivers to be idiots and don't worry about it. I leave 2 seconds between me and the car in front of me. I signal all the time. I go with the flow of traffic. If somebody has to be a dick and cut in, I just simply slow down and let them in. I can't describe how much better I feel and how much more relaxing it is. Result: My anxiety issues have reduced significantly and I get to my destination at the same time I would have anyway. |

Never thought about cleaning the windshield while driving as being a problem honestly. It's annoying when my car has just been cleaned.....but....I can't see that persons windshield. I guess I'd rather they have it clear so they can see and not cause an accident versus waiting until the next exit. I'll try to be more aware going forward! Lol

For my pet peeves: Speeding up when I try to go around First time this has happened to me but some asshole did this ^ and then used his windshield washers when I got behind him, just to further annoy me. Well my car was already rained on and I haven't tailgated someone as badly as I did to him after that in many years. He kept doing it too. Fucking Chevy Cruze....I told a friend the story and he was like "eh he drives a chevy, his life couldn't get any worse, right?" I fully understand I was not exercising my ability to be the bigger person here. When people get on a freeway and feel the need to IMMEDIATELY get out of the right lane, either before getting up to speed or pointlessly because there's no one in front of them When people leave their turn signals on forever. Just don't even use it. Honestly. |

Other drivers' irritating behavior generally all boils down to a lack of awareness/attentiveness.
That manifests itself in a variety of behaviors, all of which are infuriating: 1. Phone use / distracted driving 2. Slow merges onto a crowded freeway 3. Being in the wrong lane (i.e. when a lane becomes turn only and you try to force your way into a through lane because you weren't paying attention) and holding up lots of traffic because you are selfish rather than going around the block 4. Going under the speed limit when you can see from the ped heads that the signal is about to change, causing those behind to miss the light (and subsequent lights in sequence) 5. Not paying attention when a light (especially a left turn signal) changes, causing those behind you to miss the light 6. Driving 10-15mph over the speed limit when a 1-lane road has a passing lane, then slowing back down to the limit when it returns to 1-lane 7. Failing to allow faster traffic through on mountain roads with pull-offs 8. Driving in packs / blind spots. E.g. If I'm going 85mph and pass someone who is going 75mph, but suddenly they speed up and maintain pace with me 9. Driving without regard for speed limit changes or keeping inconsistent speed - people will go 75mph on the interstate in a 55 zone and maintain that same speed in a 70 zone. I try to keep my speed relative to the limit (10-15mph over the limit at all times) 10. Pulling up short to a light when there is a right turn lane, blocking the lane and making those who want to turn right wait for the entire light cycle Driving in Atlanta for a decade plus has made me hate 99% of other drivers, in case you couldn't tell from this list.
